Nah you can't compare the decisions made in the previous series from Marines and other scientists in the OG movie to what these dumb ass scientists did in Prometheus and Covenant. Utter lunacy all around.

The only questionable shyt in Alien was not putting the first dude w/ a face hugger into stasis. But those weren’t scientists, so not really all that out there.

In Aliens, the reaction was to nuke the planet.

There is no comparable decision making in Prometheus, where an average person could look at that and go yeah, that’s completely reasonable thing to have happen.
