Let's create a Hip Hop channel....

we are a bunch of dudes with millions of dollars to invest in an all hip hop, all the time channel. the channel will be totally uncut (except for sexuality and nudity) and totally dedicated to hip hop culture. what kind of programming would you like to see?

i'd like to see a show that gives artists a chance to show and explain all that behind the scenes videos that they are shooting everywhere they go. there is always a camera man present whenever you see an artist, so i wanna see what he is capturing.

dope thread. I refuse to let it flop.

for starters, i'd take away uncut part. its not necessary and does nothing but alienate audiences such as devoted youngns. when in elementary, I had a lil collection, but I seriously doubt my folks would've signed off on and paid for a whole 24-hour channel of that chit. way too much.

- a weekly top 25 countdown that doesn't cater to commercial audiences.
- a daily request countdown. nothing big like 106th. more like the mtv jams countdown back in the day.....but heres the catch. in order to vote online, you have to take a quiz first.
- shows dedicated to local scenes and artists that are actually buzzing locally. underground videos, interviews, etc. have a show dedicated to every city/town/borrough that matters at least once a month, and include other locales here-n-there, like every 2-3 months.
- one thing I know for sure is that I should be in charge of the throwback programming.

I remember Dead Prez once asked Michael Jordon, Michael Jackson, Oprah, Whitney Houston, Magic Johnson and Bill Cosby to put up 50 G's in grant money for a hospital and none of the big names ever responded.




Maybe they asked for the wrong thing.......Do u think a Hip Hop channel can make those big names come out of pocket???

nah. that kinda defeats the purpose.

one of the reasons these channels that we have now suck is because the labels poke their noses into everything.

- a "where are they now" show that talks about past hip hop artists and what they are doing these days

yea, a "life after" type show dedicated to rappers that arent big enough to have episodes on tv-one's "life after".

I forgot to list that and......an "unsung" type show dedicated to hip-hop. we can have episodes on LEGENDS that unsung prolly wont touch like kool g rap, AZ, big l, above the law, school d, etc. LEGENDS.
