The nikka is 33 not 27 and they haven't made the playoffs in 3 years. Doesn't seem like Jerry is in that much of a rush. Who was gonna pay a 34 year old Romo $55 mil or anywhere close to it? You know why they had no money...bad financial decisions. I'm not sure how yet another bad financial choice fixes that. Yeah it may help in the short term but all you are doing is delaying the inevitable. ABSA my biggest issue with this is that a black QB with the same or even a better resume would've been shipped out.

32 actually but I understand your point. What you're missing is that he isn't the only around his early 30s. Ware, Ratliff, and Witten are also there. This era is running out and Romo gives them the best chance to succeed. He's not staying for the entire 6 years. Hell, may not be here for the 4th year. Jerry is rushing. Which is why he wanted to make things "uncomfortable". He knows his time is running out. Like I said, there wasn't any other option other than maybe letting him play out the contract and that rarely happens with QB's in this league. Either they would trade him or they would resign him. But there was going to be something before the draft.

Dallas only was only around 50,000 under the cap. This deal frees up 5-6 million. Spears will be a June 1 cut which will free up 2 million from what I heard on the ticket this morning. They would like to sign a couple cheap free agents plus draft picks but they couldn't do that unless they got a deal for Spencer and/or Romo. That's why I'm saying Dallas had no other options to free any money otherwise they would not have had any money to sign their draft picks. They now have money to add a piece or two in the trenches which needs and, and has needed for the past 3 years, to be badly addressed.

He will be 33 before he takes another snap. I am not denying that they needed to free up money. My point is that bad decision in terms of money is what got them here and will only get them right back here again in a couple years, likely with no playoff berths let alone wins to show for it. Don't get it twisted I know exactly why they did what they did. I just don't think it's gonna benefit them.

Thou shall NOT talk about another mans money :birdman:
Looks like that's the end of the-Coli.com.

I have t take that back to some degree in McNabb's case

McNabb is now an NFL Network analyst and he is paid to discuss and share his opinions about NFL day-to-day business so I cant blame him for broadcasting it.

Totally different from what Favre did.

They can get a playoff berth if they fix the shyt that's needed to be fixed. But they keep ignoring because it's not a "splash" in the offseason. But I don't entirely disagree with your point. Giving money to people like Marion Barber, Marcus Spears, Bradie James, and even Miles Austin like that has hurt them. But this is Jerry Jones. I've been saying he is the MAIN problem for this franchise, Romo or no Romo. We have one playoff win since 1996. Who is the constant in all of this.

It's one thing to shyt on McNabb and call him a egomaniac who catches feelings or a sambo or a hater or any other pejorative but to do so while riding for TO is truly :mindblown:. It's just like nikkas who talk about his accuracy (or lack therof) or playoff failures but ride for Vick. :dwillhuh:

so how do you explain McNabb being bitter about Garcia leading *his* team to the playoffs in 2006? because that doesn't have T.O. involved.

I gotta remember you cats on here are some youngins and were still in diapers in 2006 while I'm :flabbynsick:

I'm beginning to realize cats really don't watch games or just purposefully ignore facts to suit their agenda. Some clown a couple pages back said "Romo throws game ending picks with no one in his face" but then dudes all over this forum post the gif of Romo throwing an INT in Washington where the LB comes UNBLOCKED right in his face.

the irony in all this is that people clown Romo for "one playoff win" (as if there aren't 52 other players on the roster), but Romo is responsible for our only playoff win in 17 years. So I guess it was Romo's fault from 1996-2005 too :beli:

Mcnabbs certainly entitled to his opinion but the contract isnt even outlandish. People see 100 mill and go nuts. Romo plays QB and can actually play the position.

This isnt a scrub getting paid. Romo can throw the ball down the field and he puts points on the board. If Dallas didnt give him the money another team would have.

Great dodge there breh. :heh: I didn't say he wasn't bitter. I didnt' say he wasn't any of the things that you said he was. My point is that you can't shyt on McNabb for being those things while invoking :to: name like he's some pious selfless, humble, gracious truth teller.

I am not blaming Romo for everything. I am just calling it how it is. The team has really been no better for having him at QB the last 8 years. Of course the lack of success isn't all his fault but at the same time it doesn't warrant that kind of money. All the other guys making that kind of money either have rings or potential going for them. Romo has neither. :ld:
