lol it was so shytty it was great. the tv series was ASS though
he was so fukkin hard to beat in every game. even goro in the original gameboy game (i think he was the boss) was hard as fukk. i had to cheese low kicks or the flying liu kang kick and i hated using liu kang
I only was able to beat him with unmasked Sub-Zero. His freeze attack will position you low enough to avoid Shao Khan's projectile attack and you will freeze him in the process.
Shao Khan was nothing compared to the likes of Orochi, Rugal and all the other SNK bosses with absurd movelists, non-existent hitboxes, and no input lag.

I remember one time really dedicating time to beat him, on like 10th or 11th attempt I had him down to like less then 5% health and I had more then 75% and it was the 3rd round, then the piece shyt just out of no where started countering every damn thing I did and fukked me up in seconds. I was so pissed I never attempted again
I had a much harder time with Kintaro in MK2 than i did with Shao Khan. The only way i could reliably beat Kintaro was using Kitana and using the fan lift-drop kick-air fan toss combo. In order to see everyones ending i would play with a character up until Kintaro, get my ass whipped, switch to Kitana and beat him, then purposely lose to Shao Khan and switch back to my original character.
With Shao Khan in MK2 all you had to do was back yourself into the corner then crouch block, hoping he would do the shoulder ram. You could recover quick enough after a blocked should ram to uppercut him.
