This is a good comparison. Ransom is a very dope writer with an authoritative voice and precise flow without sounding preachy. Daylyt MAY be a good writer, but I can’t tell cause his voice is terrible and clearly only suited for a battle rap environment. I only listened to his initial diss he dropped and it was a chore to get through.Imagine if Ransom was a terrible rapper and this is the result
None of the all time diss records are lyrical records like that. Full of super complex bars and double meanings. All the disses that are in the public's top diss records...Hit Em Up, Ether, Takeover, Story of Addidon, The Bridge is Over, No Like Us, No Vaseline etc...all dumbed down and straight to the point. He’s not tho…he just rocked over some ass beats for the battling shhit. I’ve heard several songs where he’s sounded good over the beat, there’s a reason a lot of people fukk with him as a rapper, not just a battler. His delivery can use some work imo but who tf am I? Lol.
Off topic, but people disregarding the bar work almost totally and just focusing on the beat/hook/song when it comes to battling someone is gross..,again, imo. Even reputable battlers are doing it apparently,. Song making annd musicianship and shhit is different, I agree…but these nigs are doing a verbal head up and yall think one is wack because you can’t shake your funky b!tch ass to it? Not you, speaking generally
I disagree brudda with the bar work, he was barring him up, it’s just the Casual can’t even follow the way he raps, let alone what he’s saying because it’s layered (We’re conditioned for it because we hear that and better all the time watching battle rap)…which I can agree with, to your point…get straight to the point. Kinda like he did in his 3rd against Rum, which everybody is saying is the best round of the whole battle (and how Lux was the whole battle against Rum, which is why he cleared him imo).None of the all time diss records are lyrical records like that. It's really about who can say the most impactful thing about their opponent. Daylyt really didn't say anything about Joey that was impactful or memorable, and the first couple of disses weren't even that good lyrically. So they were bad records AND not outdated bar wise lol.
Dissing has never been about going bar for barHe’s not tho…he just rocked over some ass beats for the battling shhit.
