Ok so i've just seen this article on Lakersnation saying that NBA athletes have been linked to the Biogenesis scandal which has hit MLB.

My question is why shouldn't athletes be able to use Performance enhancing drugs.

1) These athletes livelihood is based upon there bodies staying together so why shouldn't they be able to take something such as HGH that allows them to train harder and heal quicker from injuries?

2) The idea that Kirk Heinrich is suddenly going to become some freak athlete is ridiculous. The top level players in the league mechanically are just superior to other athletes. Regardless of what an athlete takes athletes like Lebron, Dwight or Kobe will always have mechanical advantages.

Does the league need to look into a more open adoption of certain PED's with more transparent guidelines but stricter monitoring and would this help or hinder sports?

F it...I say let 'em use 'em.

I wanna see home runs, I wanna see power pitching, I want less recovery time.

"B-b-b-but Mr. Taadow...they're illegal!!"

So is weed and cocaine but we know they're using them, too. At least PEDs will help them play better.

Entertain me, you giants!

I'm all for using hgh for recovery, to help get over an injury quicker. It's only illegal in sports, regular people are given it all the time by their dr.

We have to remember this is about entertainment, it's only people who think sports are life that get overly offended by this shyt.

The people who don't care whether these players use PED's generally don't care about the players' well being and deep down, don't give a damn about these players. Deep down they hate em. If he winds up dying from some fukked up side effect, fukk em. We'll move on.

If you wanna use PED's it's your funeral, but I'll tell you what, if I was playing and I wasn't doing it and I knew someone else was to try to conceivably gain an edge over someone like me, I NEVER wanna hear about that player ever being better than me.

and because it's the coli and we like to trace everything back to Kobe (sarcasm), if we found out LeBron was doing PED's, can't nobody tell you shyt. Kobe would always be the better player, even if LeBron's enhanced stats look better.

Ah bullshyt.

If we're talking just hgh, it's prescribed to regular people all the time, even old people. It's only bad if you use way too much of it. In terms of healing tricky injuries and the players recovering from them easier/faster, it's a big help. Also, i'm not some petty loser, I don't hate any athlete for the sole exception of dwight howard :russ:

Drugs are prescribed to people all the time. That doesn't mean you and I can just go get some for ourselves for our own enjoyment. That's why they're PRESCRIBED, as in "it's for you because it's necessary." It's not necessary to be on drugs to play sports.

If you think all the drugs that are prescribed are necessary then you're naive as hell. These drug companies are making billions, but no one had all these drugs a few decades ago did they? But now they're all necessary though huh? BS.

We're discussing the pro's and con's of athletes being allowed to use substances which would enhance their performance or speed up recovery. Many use them anyways, but if they were officially allowed, then they could have more doctors involved working with the athletes and training staff out in the open.

Watching
I say let them use it but they won't be in the record books and only get max contracts if the team is stupid enough to pay it.

When I say PEDs i'm looking more towards the side of drugs to aid healing etc.

You cant have pro sports turn into bodybuilding where it turns into a chemical race whereas the wealthy guys have an inherent advantage. It takes away the purpose of athletic competition. Thats why the NBA and any other sport has to remain vigilant on roids, hgh and even blood doping.

Please people stop saying that HGH is a steroid :mindblown: HGH is not a steroid

I seriously don't see the issue with althletes using HGH. Its frustrating to know that pro sports is against HGH. Why wouldn't teams want a strong and healthy workforce?

If Tom Brady,Peyton, Adrian Peterson, LeBron, Melkly Cabrerra etc (The faces of franchices) somehow get injured, why wouldn't you as an organization or as a league want those players to be back on the field/court quickly to continue performing at a high competitive level.

HGH isn't even illegal, its simply banned by professional sports. HGH is perscribed to millions of Americans daily (men, women, children, underdeveloped babies, cancer patients etc)

There are so many medical/performance benefits of HGH. I'm willing to be that in 10-15 yrs HGH will be legal for use in pro sports.
