Im ready to pull the trigger on a new tablet but I need some advice. I've been rocking with IPads for Gen 1/2 and Air and I also had a Nexus 7...I'm looking for a tablet that could replace my laptop for minimum productivity while traveling but also has a lot of apps and is very portable. I am a fan of all 3 mobile systems but my phone is Android and current laptop is a windows 8.1 (horrible)

Tablets can't replace laptops. There's the surface pro but that's not really a tablet, as the price would indicate.

It's kinda like trying to replace a cell phone with a pager. While they're both in the telecommunication genre, they don't serve the same purpose.

A tablet is basically a toy. Outside of watching football, basketball, tv shows and movies, and occasional web browsing, it really has no value.

I've tried, they suck for productivity when compared to a laptop. What exactly is minimum productivity? That sounds like its a media consumption device that can do light productivity on top of it. Meaning that at the end of the day, the laptop is still the best to get work done in an efficient manner. Laptops are also cheaper than many tablets worth a damn as wel.

I can't even imagine writing all my notes and research on a goddamn iPad over a laptop

No tablet replaces a laptop.

Different tools for different jobs.

I have a samsung ativ 700t, put windows 7 on it and i replaced my laptop. All my apps run just fin on it, not to mention having an accurate stylus matters. Replacing a laptop can be done. Im still waiting for samsung to drop the next gen version with a better gpu, but i have no complaints.

If you need a keyboard to make it official there are bluetooth options, i think its well worth considering.

you gotta remember the general consumer audience. if people say this is all i need more than likely theyre cool the streamlined hardware. why do you think the giants are unifying their OS across their devices? osx, for example, has become more like ios not the other way around

you can easily find the average guy who is not really computer literate but a beast on the ipad.

I never understood the hype about tablets.

My dad was tryin to talk me into one a few years ago. Didn't understand why I prefer laptops, yet every time he tries to pull up youtube or some simple shyt on his tablet, we always have to end up going to his desktop to view it because the wifi signal isn't sufficient, or the volume isn't working or some basic shyt.
