Shiiit, i know. I had a white barber lol. When white folks who are really from the hood talk like us, it sounds natural, they don't have to force it. You can tell as soon as you hear them

You know damn well what I mean. If you didn't you wouldn't be calling names. People tell me that I talk white all the time (black and white people) and I dont get irrate because I know what they mean. This dude called me cuz and assumed I was with the shyt JUST BECAUSE I AM BLACK. On top of that, most people that are from the hood don't even talk like that most of the time. I have every reason to suspect dude of tryna placate me.
I ridiculed a white dude for calling me cuz(among some other things, not derogatory) and told him he was basically living in black face.
What if he ridiculed you for speaking with proper diction.![]()

I don't think it's inherent at all. In fact, I've damn near mastered code switching because i grew up back and forth between the hood and a small town. I'm the one that gets asked where I'm from and that "clearly isnt from round here". All this dudes friends were black and it struck me as odd that he talked like he was hood. What's the point of even having a white friend if he can't talk to the cops?!Well this depends on whether you think 'talking hood' is something blacks inherently are born with, or if different living environments produce different dialects. Do you know anything about where this kid grew up?
So lemme ask that question OP. You really think blacks and whites are born to just speak differently? Hope you weren't that kid in school who was asking the quiet black girl why she talks white all the time.
and for fcks sake sometimes people just kinda stumble when it comes to breaking the ice.
Breaking the ice? I see this dude every week. I'm a comedian, as is he, so when I see shyt like that I crack on it. Why you're so defensive about this is beyond me. I'll admit to being hypocritical but that doesn't change how I feel. To be completely honest, i barely understand what you're saying.its your logic i dont get..
how can you not see your own hypocrisy?
i get mad when rich people in maryland tell me i talk white?
and for fcks sake sometimes people just kinda stumble when it comes to breaking the ice.
Lol i dont call people buddy. Normally sir or nikka (regardless of race) if the situation is informal. This makes sense. To be honest OP I wouldn't be surprised if he usually calls strangers 'buddy' or 'bro' and he noticed that you were black so he tried to switch up the motion a little bit.... it does make him a little bit corny but I don't think that's automatically malice.
I remember a few years ago media republicans tried to give Obama hell because he was in some environment that was majority black, and apparently he 'spoke differently' or whatever... They tried to paint him as inauthentic when that's bullshyt. It's a practice called code switching do a quick google search on it
Edit: you just reference code switching in your post so you already feel me on that

I should clarify that this man is almost 40.Sorry, my lack of comma kinda fukked up my sentence lol. Wasn't talking about you. what I meant was, to be honest OP, this white kid you're referring to usually calls strangers 'buddy' or 'bro' or something different, but maybe tried to switch it up cause he noticed you were black and thought you were like his friends.
I should clarify that this man is almost 40.

You right. He sounds like a white richard pryor on stage. I find it odd.LOL. Then at this point there's just no helping that man![]()
In-groups and out-groups psych 101. e.g. @End Cruelty you probably wouldn't be offended if a guy with your skin tone called you cuz I assume.
