Eddie Murphy was supposed to play Eddie Valiant but ended up doing Beverly Hills Cop 3 instead I believe.
Since they Remaking everything these days, he would be a better fit NOW then even back then imo.

Do you think they should still 2d animation, or would you have Eddie interacting with a 3D Roger Rabbit? Would you ditch Disney and WB character cameos for characters that were in Pixar and DreamWorks films?

The angle was to make it seem like the cartoon world is real. So they should be in their original forms or as close to it as possible.
PJ's cameo, every cartoon Eddie has done. They had plenty of crossovers in the original so they don't have to be handcuffed now
