1. I'm not against alternative economy...but "alternative" means there should be other choices. If somebody needs a new refrigerator and they've been looking for one to pick up on Black Friday, I think they should get one without worrying about if they would be betraying the "boycott".

2. I didn't say "black people don't need to worry about money", I said "our 'ills' are bigger than money". Those are different. To keep this short - the main "ill" here is that black boys are getting shot in the street by policemen and left there. I don't see how money is gonna change a person with a mind like Darren Wilson's from doing that.

Money allows us to attain political influence (i.e., lobbyists, special interest groups, think-tanks, politicians). In turn, we can use our political influence to effectuate legislature with teeth (and apply current law) to prevent policemen (and those who think they're policemen) from doing shooting and killing black children. Moreover, such political influence would ensure that police departments have more incentive to hire black police officers. Having more black police officers and a more cooperative police department would prevent Darren Wilsons from thinking that it's OK to shoot black children.

No. But a major problem in Ferguson and in the black community in general is that we rely too much on dominant society and have not become self-sustaining.

But what if that was a black-owned store that Mike Brown walked into? Do you think his death would've resulted?

What difference would the store have made? The store owner didn't call the cops

If it was a black store owner, I don't think a confrontation would have likely arose. Certainly not to the level that it did actually. And if it did, at least we'd know that Mike Brown was a bad apple, race notwithstanding.

- what you're suggesting here makes sense in theory, but the political system is BEYOND corrupt. It's a dirty game, even when it's being played fairly.
- we can get more black policemen right now if we want...but more black people have to want to be policemen.
Ask yourself - why aren't more black people trying to be policemen? I doubt it has little to do with what people
might buy during the holiday season.

1. It also makes sense in practice. Asians, Irish, Italians, Jews and now Latinos are starting to make the system work in favor of their special interests. Since the 20s (and even earlier), the aforementioned groups have given us a detailed blueprint on how to flip the political system. Although the system will never be not racist, it can be pimped, race be damned. Blacks can do this sh*t if we get it together in our community and start moving towards that goal.

2. I agree that the lack of black policemen is disappointing. Although there are more and more blacks joining the police forces every year. My guess as to why there aren't as many blacks in the police forces is because the system is rigged and systematically discourages us from becoming officers. I don't think it's a lack of desire necessarily. But, again, like the Irish and Italians, blacks need to gain that power, wealth, and influence to place more of our own into those positions and higher.

These negroes live to buy useless stuff, this boycott ain't happening.

On the whole, perhaps.

But we do have educated, intelligent, progressive blacks in our ranks. We should carry on and salvage what we can. All we need is to set the foundation through our actions and hold an unwavering standard.

Just tell me what not to buy. :steviej:

I know you're being facetious but I'll bite:

No Apple products. No Windows products. No designer clothing (at least by whites). No Nikes (no Jordans either). No adidas. No Pumas. No Skechers. No Converses. No Jewelry. No Samsung products. No high-end liquor. No major-label CDs. No dinners at high-end, fancy restaurants. No McDonalds. No Burger King. No Wendy's.

Basically, no anything that's not made by us.

I get negged for pointing out an obvious solution and I get called a "c*ck" and a "cac" by @LarryLobster

And we wonder why our community will never get anywhere. When you have ignorant n*ggas like @LarryLobster , it's a sad indictment of our community. You couldn't give n*ggas like him any help.

I feel ya man, but how many black folks are game?

No supporting white owned TV stations or radio...which means no watching tv or listening to the radio

don't support walmart
don't support any non-black business...

don't shop on black friday or that whole weekend...or shyt, don't support non-black busineses ever again.

Ofcourse that sadly won't happen cause most black americans enjoy being ignorant and stupid and want to seek validation from others from their trinkets and toys that they buy with their hard earned wealth that they give back to non-blacks...

Why don't you just get xmas gifts from black-owned businesses? Or make your own? Or just give your family money?
