The thing is, you can't stop Curry. There's no other PG in the history of the league that has that title except maybe AI when he was playing PG. That's worth a lot in any NBA era. You can only hope he misses. We've seen this guy shoot over 7 footers with abnormal reaches like AD and drop shots in their faces with outstretched arms no problem. Even if you do stop him he has some great court vision and makes some great passes. Now maybe the passes aren't quite at Magic's level in that department, but if Curry doesn't find a shot he likes he makes the right pass the mass majority of the time. If I want anybody as a primary ball handler for a PG it'd be Steph Curry. Even compared to the current All-NBA team I'd want Curry to bring the ball up over LeBron. I'll take Curry any day over John Stockton as well and yes, I've seen Stockton play a considerable amount.
Here's where Curry is valuable: A PG needs to be able to read the floor, analyze the flow of the game, have the smarts to figure what the best possible option should be, and have the ability to carry it out. There are plenty of times where the PG should take it on his duty to score if the situation calls for it. Because of Curry's skill set there is rarely a time when he shouldn't try to score. In fact the option order for someone who is as efficient a scorer, even in volume as Curry (even as a PG) should be a)look to score b)pass it. Golden State has done a great job surrounding Curry with the talent so that the scoring load isn't all on him and he can get very crafty with getting his teammates involved, which he does. Curry knows when he needs to distribute the ball and to which team mate which is all what being a great floor general is about. Comparing him to other gunner PG's isn't accurate because those guys chuck inefficient shots/bad looks when they don't have shooting ability nearly as great as Curry's.
These are old highlights and Curry has only got better since then.
So yes I'd put him right there with Magic in terms of who I'd take at PG. They're both as effective in getting their teams wins, they just do it in different ways. But why're the same level of floor general.
Now here my decision isn't quite as solid and more on the fence, but Kawhi is still very young. I'm very intrigued by some of the flashes of ability Leonard shows offensively and feel he really can be a 20+ppg guy based on that. I'll be more convinced as well when he does it more consistently.
I'll have to say though that Leonard has defended better scoring threats than Pippen and done so effectively. But the jury is still out in terms of overall. However, I think it's a lot closer already than people realize.
again, slow down. why are you trying to convince that curry is great. I told yall how good this dude was when he was in college on that other site. i'm the one that told people He will be a great player one day due to his NBA level footwork already. you dont have to sell me on curry. he's a legend in my eyes already. but he aint MAGIC /STOCKTON. shoot he's not as good of a POINT GUARD as gary payton. and this is not about stats. its about watching with your own eyes. curry is not a FLOOR general as much as that team has a nice ball movement offense(thanks kerr). and yes he can pass very well. but he aint those guys. so please lets never say that lie again.he's his own kind of unique talent. curry is truthfully a short shooting guard with great passing ability. AI was a short shooting guard.

Today, the worst team in the league in regards to threes were the Wolves, they made 406. As good as Patrick was, you're not beating any team today without being able to make the 3 because opposing teams would simply play the numbers and would live with Ewing getting his numbers.
