Jimmy will never win a championship as the Main guy. You can’t be giving 21, 6 and 5 as the Top guy of the team and beat the LeBrons/KDs of the world.

AVERAGED AGAINST BRON

What's happening now with normal playoff conditions proves "the original premise" to be true even more, given all the stars that aligned for Jimmy and the Heat in the Bubble environment. Any other superstar barely cracking double digits on low volume would be dragged up and down this board, yet somehow he escapes criticism that his peers would be facing.Thread was originally about why Jimmy Butler, while literally one game away from leading MIA to the most improbable Finals run in years, wasn’t getting criticism for not being a dominant scorer … which was absurd on its face considering
1) he actually WAS being criticized for it in real time by the NBA Daily Hot Take Media Complex
2) he successfully willed the team to its first post-Heatles finals berth…where he was outmatched against a Lakers team with two top 5 players, saw Bam and Dragic get injured, and took the champs to 6 games while averaging 26 10 and 8 …a “first option/max player” Finals MVP caliber performance had they not been outgunned and actually won
what’s happening now, a year later…doesn’t make the actual original premise of the thread make more sense
AD is generational obviously, but I’m just thinking back to when Vogel let him lose on Jimmy and that was seriesI'm a Butler fan but in reality he a #2 in a non bubble type year. Until he can get back to being an average shooter, the next few years could get ugly. He gets by on FT attempts but that doesnt last forever

Eerily similar to what's happening with AD right now.
Last year's run then coming back 9 weeks later for a packed schedule will do that to you.Jimmy is shooting 8/32 from the field these first two games. He didn't attempt a three tonight and only shot 2 for 9 from deep in Game 1.
He looks washed.
He's always been a #2, he's a Pippen type of player. Brehs was talking about #3 and #4 getting disrespectful.I'm a Butler fan but in reality he a #2 in a non bubble type year. He averaged 26 which isn't enough either.THATS WHAT JIMMY

Jimmy escaped criticism because there has never been a high expectation of him. Sport Media rarely bring his name up on live tv, and the Heat has been under the radar since start of the season. Only popular players get harsh criticism. What's happening now with normal playoff conditions proves "the original premise" to be true even more, given all the stars that aligned for Jimmy and the Heat in the Bubble environment.
