I mean the fact the thread exists at all, following the format of every other stupid ass hot take thread that defies all logic, kinda invalidates the entire point…”any other superstar” gets stupid threads made just like this one lol… shyt is like when the talking heads on Fox News whine and cry about “the main stream media is ignoring the crisis on the border” on a show where they’ve spent an hour talking about it on the highest rated news program on TV :mjlol:…. shyt is just as stupid as the steph and the Zion is a bust thread
On the contrary.

This thread is pointing out how Jimmy doesn't face the criticism of other stars, especially given the fact he's not even performing to a standard that others get chastised for.

I mean, I remember defending Jimmy all those years ago in discussions when he was being compared to Kawhi and PG, which folks took exception to, but then slowly over time, Jimmy ended up being regarded as one of the elite players in the game, but what didn't mirror that was the opposing reaction, that all the other stars have to shape the perception of them - right or wrong.

I mean, how could you really argue with any of this with what we've seen so far in the playoffs -
As a Heat fan, in a vacuum, I think Jimmy Butler is the perfect fit for the Heat culture. BUT with that being said, he’s a max player and naturally the expectations that come with such are different. Ive been adamant all year that this Heat team is good enough to win it all except Jimmy Butler isn’t quite good enough on the offensive end to be the go-to guy when the role players that the Heat have counted on all year aren’t playing well. So, for sake of discussion, my questions are simply the following:

1) Is there another max player in the league that could be the 4th leading scorer on his own team in the conference finals and still be immune to any criticism?

2) Is there another max player and unquestioned leader of his squad in the league that feels like he’s just “one of the guys”? I don’t feel like Jimmy is significantly better than the other main contributors on the Heat on the offensive end. It makes Spo’s job infinitely harder because Jimmy; and even Bam (he’s still young and developing so I give him a pass), aren’t the type of “best players on the team” that will overwhelm you offensively so it’s a lot of just feeding the hot hand. But when that hot hand can he one of 6 guys because your best player(s) aren’t the type of player you can give the ball to and he can consistently get you buckets in one-on-one, it makes it that much harder when the role players aren’t playing well.

The short turnaround clearly affected all of the Final Four more than any other teams, but Jimmy's j has been dead. He hasn't shot over 25% from 3 either of the last two years despite shooting 35% on higher volume in the previous 5 years, and he takes fewer midrange shots too. He changed his game for some reason and it's helped weaken his shooting stroke...
I don't disagree his jumper's been gone. He has had wrist problems for a couple years though on his shooting hand.

I watching First Take RIGHT NOW at lunch with “IS JIMMY BUTLER TO BLAME? sprawled in big bold letters across the screen on top of his game 2 stat line…there’s two or three Jimmy is trash threads on the front page of this forum RIGHT NOW

this thread was made when Jimmy led the heat to a 3-2 lead in the ECF in a season where NO ONE picked them in the finals…then a week after the thread was made he went head to head with Lebron and AD, dropped 26 9 and 8 and pushed a far more talented laker team to 6 games with a rookie Tyler herro as his next best player in the series…what fukking sense does it make it make to criticize someone while they’re exceeding all possible expectations :why:…what does his poor play NOW down 0-2 in the first round have to do with an excellent run to the finals where he led the team to within a game of the championship?

Thread was originally about why Jimmy Butler, while literally one game away from leading MIA to the most improbable Finals run in years, wasn’t getting criticism for not being a dominant scorer … which was absurd on its face considering

1) he actually WAS being criticized for it in real time by the NBA Daily Hot Take Media Complex

2) he successfully willed the team to its first post-Heatles finals berth…where he was outmatched against a Lakers team with two top 5 players, saw Bam and Dragic get injured, and took the champs to 6 games while averaging 26 10 and 8 …a “first option/max player” Finals MVP caliber performance had they not been outgunned and actually won

what’s happening now, a year later…doesn’t make the actual original premise of the thread make more sense
That gives this thread more credit, he pointed this out while the Heat were still winning
