@CrimsonTider name a rapper from the EARLY 90s you like. I dont wanna prejudge you, but I dont think you like any rapper from that era.:pachaha:

You are what? 33-ish?

I'm 41 and I like just about everything Drake put out from when he came on the scene to currently.

I like some of NBA Youngboy, Lil Baby, etc.

You claim us old heads be hatin' the new school, but I wanna know who u like from the early to mid 90s?

I fukks wit u because I feel u and I can debate without name-calling, and I admit, you put me up on some music that I still bump today?
Early 90s. pac, snoop and biggie are cool I don’t prefer them to No limit, CMR, OutKast or 36 in the 90s

my favorite rapper is Jay-z

That's why I rock witchu fam. At 41, I still try to keep an ear out and give a chance to these younger cats' music.

One thing you are 100% correct about is how hip hop is the most evolving genre of music.

Y'all showed y'all ass yesterday claiming y'all don't know who Travis Scott, Lil Baby, or Fivio Foreign are :mjlol:

And it's no point in linking y'all to tracks because if the artist isn't rhyming like '99 Mos Def he's :trash:

Y'all can't keep knocking the cultural expressions of the youth like that Tribe song goes "the music of our youth since 1979"

There's a lot of dope shyt going on that even objectively you have to respect artistically and sonically from these new artists and there's a lot of diversity in the game at the moment but ya'll choose to focus on top 40 radio singles and y'all think everything sounds the same when it doesn't. :hubie:
Some of those posts in that Travis Scott thread from yesterday was embarrassing

This isn’t irrefutable or objective at all

There’s simply too much music today to say that it all sounds like

even take the hottest rappers out. Dababy and lil baby sound nothing alike and they don’t rap on the same type of production
I started the conversation by saying I’m referring to mainstream. And I guess we will agree to disagree that the large majority of music on the radio sounds the same...and that’s fine.

Whew!!! POWERFUL post! If your premise is true though, do you see there being a time where this same youth demands greater quality, increased creativity and elevated authenticity?
Many do on underground labels it’s just not profitable compared to major labels.

It’s not about better or worse it’s just different every era is different and it’s cultural factors that influences that music art imitates reality :manny:
There’s nothing realistic about any of this shyt Breh :mjlol: for the last ten years the most famous rapper has been a guy who got his start on Degrassi. There’s still legit artists, but it’s derivative self-parody for the most part and has been for a good while.

I already touched on all the dread lock clones. From top to bottom, it’s vacuous.
What dread lock clones :dahell:

Y’all part of the problem there’s no dread head clones they’re different, same nikkas that started calling people mumble rappers who don’t mumble :dead:

Agreed. The out of the loop heads on the Coli think we're still in 2016 :mjlol:

Mumble rap ended two years ago. We're in the post-hype era where artists are experimenting trying new things. I do think the virus has stalled the progress that was being made.

30 years ago people matured faster. Most young people are about 3-5 years behind our parents. The only equalizer is having children early but overall expecting a 19 year old in 2020 to have the same mentality as the 19 year olds then isn't realistic.

Them lacking skill isn't about age.

This era isn't for me, for many reasons. I know you can dig past that mumblerap bullshyt. There's a whole bunch of soulful rappers who use Trap beats. So there's merit to that whole movement.

I just don't fukk with it. Its not my tempo or frequency :ehh:
