Prolly think if he doesn't win another, he'll be put in that category of one off mfs like Peterson, McCarthy and etc who seem to have "lucked" their way into a title but aren't necessarily looked at as top coaches cuz they couldn't win another or even get byke fr
That's pretty much where I'm at wit it. I don't put him in that category of coaches who just simply lucked into one either cuz he could easily have two if not runnin' into somebody who's considered the goat of this thing.
Then, the biggest markers for me is to have such a tree at his young age but also to be coaching and having success with so many different iterations of his team. The staff turnover, the dualities from coaching Goff to Stafford, having Donald then not having him, players traded---hes been coaching thru it all with results.

I think he'll be viewed more like Tomlin. Wunderkind-type that wins a Superbowl really young. Player's coach who never really fields a bad team.
I think he'll win at least one more for sure. Dude is young enough to coach for 30 more years. Gotta think he'll win at least one more. I think what's most impressive is that he basically has to replace his staff every other year, and yet the Rams are still always solid. Let's you know he's really top dawg of his era.

Idk about that. Tomlin has that narrative of only winning with “Cower’s team”. True or not. McVay gets 100% percent credit for his SB win and the Rams turnaround

He was burnt out a few years ago. So while he's young enough to coach a lot longer, he won't be. I can see him walking away satisfied if he wins a second Super Bowl. But I could see him walking away satisfied period in a decade or less. If he retires in 10 years he'll only be 49, leaving young with plenty of life left and able to enjoy it on his terms with his wife and kids...
Kinda like Bill Cowher, who was a few months short of 50 when he retired. McVay doesn't feel like a football lifer to me. He won't be in his 70s coaching like Belichick and Carroll. He won't be in his 60s like Reid. The reports a few years ago on him having burnout shed a light into his personality...
He loves football and he's awesome at it. He's here to dominate while he's doing it but he's leaving sooner than later---->I don't think McVay will be coaching at 50 years old, and if they fukk around and win one well before then I can see him being cool with calling it a career...
He's already better than Tomlin, though. Tomlin has the advantage that you can never take the title and multiple Super Bowl runs away from him...
But the real view of Tomlin's career is 2013 to present, '13 being the line if demarcation when there were no more Cowher guys carrying his operation. Tomlin front that point on is .619 (10.5 wins/Per17), 4x AFC North champ, 8 playoff appearances, 3-9 playoffs (.250), 0-1 AFC Championship. This is 12 years of work...
McVay is .606 (10.3 wins/Per17), 4x NFC West champ, 6 playoff appearances, 8-4 playoffs (.667), 2-0 NFC Championship, 1-1 Super Bowl. This is 8 years of work and is a substantially better resume than Tomlin's. He's only going to seperate further from Tomlin the longer he sticks around...

This is a gross exaggeration
