so it went from nobody says it to girls say it but not guys...makes the whole point that shy men cant go around being shy...shy men are ashamed of being shy which in itself says they don't have confidence

Yes you can, being shy is having a hard time "putting yourself out there", going out of your way to talk with other people, "selling yourself", etc. That has nothing to do with having certain skills/competences, and knowing that you have those. It's a very common mistake that non-shy people have about shy people.

If you walk around telling people your shy as a grown as man you have no respect for your masculinity. If a chick approaches you and notices that your quiet would you tell her, " No, I'm just shy?" You might as well giggle like a school girl and blush while fanning your face with your hands.

I told exactly that to my current GF. Again, it's a stereotype that men can't be shy and have to be all up in everybody's faces and loud. that's how you end up with these kids who are not naturally like that who just go crazy one day and go shooting because they don't "fit" the image society/fools have of what boys and men "should" be like.

Yeah bold makes sense look at somebody like Derrick Rose dude definitely seems shy but he's a great ball player.
