I actually agree, everyone in my hood loved them. but id be listening to those 5$ beats like...
Roster of 100, with about 10 legitimate spittas. SMH! Silkk the Shocker was one of the worst rappers that I've ever heard, that was taken seriously. Respect their hustle, their movement, a few tracks here and there but overall....trash in quality.

No limit was the truth man. Every record label has shytty artists on it at some point it's just that no limits were amplified because of how quick they put tapes out. Priority and Def Jam prolly had about the same of amount of wack artists but they didn't push them the way no limit did. Nagas actin like if they didn't get put on they wouldn't bring they ppl with street with em. Truth be told Silk is better than Bobby Shmurda and the says alot about the rap climate nowadays cuz silk is atrocious lol. My balls and my word was a personal classic. Anybody kno what happened to Young Bleed? Him and Mac were the top 2 rappers on the label to me

It's funny though because the novelty of most of their shyt still hasn't worn off on me.No Limit was fast food rap. Fast food tastes good, it's fun when you're young, it's got colorful packaging, but at the end of the day, even if you look back on it with some fond memories, it doesn't leave you very satisfied, it all tasted the same, and wasn't very good.
You still gotta appreciate it for what it is. I think it's silly to compare No Limit to anything, honestly. It was what it was. It was just some shyt to play in the background at a party or kicking it with your friends.
If you sat down trying to dissect a Mystikal or Silk album likethen you missed the point IMO. I see no point trying to compare No Limit to other crews like Wu-Tang, Boot Camp Clik, Dungeon Family, Diplomats, Native Tongues, State Property, G-Unit, or even Ruff Ryders to be honest.
Early era Cash Money is the best comparison to No Limit.

Even the people sticking up for them are listing about 5 tracks from a catalogue of about 5000.
Thats the reality. Occasionally you'd find a good track but the albums on the whole were rock bottom bad.
compare the no limit product to something from suave house or the dungeon family.

I am not jumping over myself to put much No Limit on these days so I will agree at least it's not all that great but there are plenty of solid records that came from them. Some sprinkled a bit with nostalgia that I like (TRU album when it was a biting compilation really) and some genuinely some classic down south gangsta rap (ghetto d, life or death)
How Ya Do That There will always be in my rotation.
