Heard playlists of all these songs around '02 when Songs About Jane dropped in department stores. Shyt didn't sound like R&B, but mall pop or store music.
Then they got the VH1 stimulus and kicked them into a different demographic of serious college-aged MOR music listeners of white people going to school in New York or California.

Hate this band.
Was made to listen to whatever album "harder to breathe" was on and ended up hating the broad that nagged me to death to listen to it since she couldn't find any musical wavelength to fukk with me on since it was all Deftones/System/Korn for me during that time in my life. Worst GOTDAMN 46 minutes of my life. Hate these cats more than Jet and that stupid "BE me girl" song built on plagiarized riffs.
Hate these dudes worst than that Piano driven "We don't have a bassist" drivel group KEANE.
Until I almost stabbed a roommate at University 'cause he wouldn't stop listening/singing/playing "Float on" by Modest mouse, Maroon 5 was the go to crash out trigger for me for almost a decade.
I mean....Moves like Jagger? What moves? [INSERT JACKIE CHAN CONFUED SMILEY] That had to be one of the STUPIDEST songs ever fukkin' created that got burn for reasons I honestly can't comprehend past my admittedly biased rage.

lol we must be around the same age. i despise maroon 5. i had to turn off The Sopranos when it was playing in one episode. thank god i gave it another chance (the show, i mean. not maroon 5)

i remember that jet/vines/hives/strokes era where these lame ass rock bands came out, all imitating that fake MC5/ramones meets raw power sound by the stooges. the only group out of that era that was halfway decent were the white stripes. im not really big on them but jack white has chops. he might be the whitest human being in history. hell, his last name IS white. dude looks like he fell out of a tim burton movie or something​

My life is measured in Dog years, breh. Don't do that to yourself. And I forgot about the fukkin' Vines until you brought that shyt up. It seems we did go through the same level of musical malaise [The Strokes, I actually do like. They got some bangers with Deadpan sounding lead singer] alas with a strong (pause) appreciation for Jack White.
After I got over that stupid gimmick of him and the chick being brother and sister/husband and wife, whatever, the album Elephant or whatever was some pretty serious shyt that stayed in rotation long after the year it came out. By the time I started checking his other shyt out, Mastodon and High on Fire took me away from the VH1 friendly music video rock that I was so ensconced and I couldn't get into any of his other 'super group' no matter how much I tried, but that album.....​

Suprisingly enough, I fell in love with COLDPLAY of all fukking groups, but that's due to University and snow and pawgs and simping, but still.You like Keane? They made good/decent shyt to you?​
