Sikma works on Tree Rollins - YouTube

that was impressive as hell:ohhh:

he self taught himself too.

He was a guard who sprouted like 7 inches, so he still had his wing instincts in the post. Wasn't really a banger, so he figured out how to create space for his offense, and he rebounded and defended with the best of them.

My high school coach gave me Sikma tapes (dude was a basketball nut, he had so many hours of basketball VHS and edited it all himself) and it changed my game in one summer. My cousin was a lot more athletic than I was, and was the best basketball player in my family. By the end of the summer, watching Sikma and Alex English tapes, I was embarrassing dude. Went from a typical slasher and jumpshooter to an inside and outside player who could play every position. Those dudes helped me to understand basketball as a science.

even shaq himself puts hakeem ahead of himself on the all-time list of centers.

another crazy stat that most ppl don't know is that hakeem is 8th all-time on the steals list. :krs:

watching him crush david robinson after he accepted the MVP trophy was one of the most gratifying things i've ever seen in sports. i'll never forget that...

One of the GOAT playoff runs breh:jawalrus:

33/10/4.2 on 53% shooting

Beat the 4 best teams in the NBA that year on the road in the playoffs back to back to back.
1st rd- Beats 60 win Jazz team, Averages 35 on 57%, and drops 40 to save them from elimination
2nd rd- beat 59 win Charles and KJ suns teams and comes back from down 3-1 series lead and drops 30/12/6 in the last 3 games
3rd rd- we all know this story, dominates a frontcourt of MVP Drob and Prime Dennis rodman, drops 40 3 times and 39/17/5 in the close out game. Overall 35 on 56%
Finals- Sweeps the shaq/penny magic, outscoring shaq in every single game while dropping 35/15 on his head in the close out game

Looking at Competition and His overall play, it stacks up against anyone :obama:
:blessed:The dream went super Saiyan that year

Low-key it wasn't like Hakeem only had two great runs and didn't show up the other 18 years. He's one of the best in history at showing out in the playoffs EVERY year. It's just that 94/95 were the two years he had the right cast around him to go deep.

His consistency in the playoffs is a big reason that I put him in my top-5.

My favorite bball player of all time a long with magic.

Houston couldnt get right after sampson got hurt and those two other players got banned from the league for drug use. Hakeem was out there by his self for a while, was disgruntled and had that scottie pippen contract

Imo he is the best all around center skill wise

Mchale has been hailed as having one of the best post games ever. It's certainly something that can be discussed. Especially Akeem before he found allah and his game was based more on his athletic ability then his skill in the post. I don't agree with him on alot of things but I wouldn't disagree as strongly as you do.
