They seem so similar. I guess i'll go with the chronic since it changed the whole landscape of rap

I have to go with Doogystyle. The beats on that shyt are still amazing. Still remember when this dropped and how everyone was rockin Cool Water.I still bump The Shiznit and G'z Up Hoes Down.

I still have the original pressed copy from 93.

yeah, i feel that, 100%

i haven't had the original version of doggystyle in yeeeeeeeeeeeeears. i been tryin' to find it at places where they sell used cds but no luck yet. i'll find it though, it's actually fun searchin' through bins of old and used cds sometimes :yeshrug:

True. the beats on The Chronic are a bit more blocky and sound like 1992. Whereas Doggystyle is more refined and sounds like it could have been made up to four years after it actually came out.

I feel this exact same way about Ready to Die vs Life After Death.

yeah, some of the beats on the chronic don't sound nearly as "smooth" doggystyle

8 outta 10 times im pickin the chronic.

But for a label to drop 2 albums like these is just:wow:

Quality wise, they're equal.

But the climate of the chronic coupled with soundbites from the LA riots where nikkaz were fed up was just:ohlawd:

yeah :obama:
those soundbites from the la riots added in were powerful and profound :mjcry:

Although I consigned both being equal, doggystyle is my favorite.
And has the better replay value. It's the hip hip thriller from a sound standpoint. Flawless production while utilizing a great stand out smooth artist to bring it all together.
I give the chronic a few extra points for being a Lil more militant but I definitely bump doggystyle more

I'll add nikkaz4life to that list too. Very slept on but I think it was overall one of Dre's best produced albums ever.

I like Doggystyle better overall...

But Lil Ghetto Boy>>>>>any song on either album

I remember there was a video for Lil Ghetto Boy but it was never released as a single due to the fact that Doggystyle was going to come out and they wanted to promote that...
