They had a three for the next decade tho in tayshaun thats why they aint pick melo. Honesly Melo, wade and bosh would have gotten no burn in detroit cause thier coach was larry brown. Brown wouldn't even play them in the olympics in 04. Probably better they didn't go to detroit. Melo would have a chip but it wouldn't mean shyt if you on the end of the bench for real
Everyone and their mama knew Melo was a future 20 ppg scorer in the NBA while Prince was considered a role player with good defense. Having Prince shouldn't have stopped them from taking Melo.

Dumbest move the pistons could've ever made. Having Melo on the squad would've made the team better as the years moved forward and it would've given Lebron that rivalry opponent that he never really got from his peers.:francis:

Larry Brown would've shanked Melo in the shower

All that 3 point loving, no defense playing, ballhog shyt.. LB would've had him sitting under the damn bench.

1. Prince was a role player coming off a rookie season where he wasn't even a starter.
2. Larry Brown only coached the Pistons for 2 years. He was gone by summer 2005.

Or the vets on the Pistons would have molded him and he would have been a good defender who played team ball instead of that iso shyt. Why folks don't go with that narrative? Melo was far to talented for Larry Brown to just stick him on the bench for 82 games. The fans would have revolted if that was the case.

Miss me with that no defense ball hogging three point shyt. He was a 19 yr old coming off a national championship and final four mvp. Do I think a better organization with veterans would have molded Melo into a better all around player yea but he coulda got benched his first and second year and lost all confidence like darko.

The Pistons won a ring and routinely went to the ECF and 2 finals. What revolt would have come?

And not for nothing, Melo being trash defensively has nothing to do with lack of veteran presence in his career. He has had that.

With Melo they could have had a dynasty and won even more rings.

I don't recall ai riding the pine Melo would've did great in Detroit an all time great defense to cover his flaws on that end a tough coach who knows how to win and a deep veteran team to help him mature..Melos numbers wouldn't have been as big but they would've been much more impactful we'd probably hold him in higher regards and could you imagine cacs v pistons, lbj v Melo year in year out in the conference finals.
