What desktop environment are you using? I use Unity and Windows 8 isn't too dissimilar from that or GNOME Shell.

Speaking of that, the only problem I've had with Windows 8 so far is how much of a pain in the ass it was to install Linux. With 7, you just put the Live CD/USB in. But with 8, there's that stupid "safe boot" mode that made it take longer to install.

I'm using Unity too. I am not sure I see the link. My biggest beef with Windows 8, at least the version I used, was that stupid ass separate screen to access programs. Unity is like Win 7 or OSX in that it has a taskbar on the desktop.

Do you have a dual boot setup? I thought about doing that, but VMs worked way better for me. All I use Windows for is Microsoft Office.
