I thought his flow was awkward, but I appreciated his effort. I think after being bombarded with terrible crunk rap and nursery rhymes. People, especially NY dudes were desperate for a lyricist that seemed to embody the old-school principles. I'll admit he still dropped some heat, but yea, 85% of that stuff did not age well.

wtf was we on brehs? This nikka Papoose was just stringing words together in Alphabetical order, he didn't even have a point to it.

And the Kayslay intro is corny. Teaching grown ass man the Alphabet? nikka got a 6x polka dot shirt

song was trash even back then. I remember laughing at how bad it was and knowing that hip hop was falling the fukk off. That SMACK DVD era was woat and went hand-in-hand with the woat commercial stuff. It was all woat.

As I've always said, "lyricism/bars" is for dummies and the naive. High school kids. So when y'all try to pull that "he better because he lyrical/bars" crap, I just laugh. We all went through that shyt.
I was there in 2000 keystyling on ICQ trying to make sure my multis hit extra hard. I didn't know shyt about hip hop in comparison to what I know now. Not just hip hop, didn't know shyt about life in general.

The person most obsessed with multis in The Booth may be autistic or mentally ill. That should tell you something.

edit: at some point in the 2000s, hype for mediocrity/downright wack shyt went into overdrive. That's why I'm happy to catch hate when y'all get mad for me calling out Wayne/Kanye/Kendrick/wack overhyped act. I've been through all this garbage before. The discogs won't hold up, the casuals and non hip hop fans will be onto the next thing.
