i thought it started once Massacre dropped, yea he sold alot but the quality wasn't there. he was doing it for cash only, not the passion of music.

where half the videos were either of him just rapping in the studio, or the green-screen garbage
Massacre had some amazing songs, but it was a lil bit too commercial/pop soundin.
GRODT had hit singles like "In Da Club", "If I Cant" etc. and those still sound amazing today, from a mainstream standpoint but also as a hiphop fan.
Massacre had some heat tho, besides the commercial/pop songs you had "In My Hood", "Im Supposed To Die Tonight", "Ski Mask Way" "Baltimore Love Thing" or "Gunz Come Out" which were straight![]()
That could have been considered the first crack in the dam. I even bought that Massacre DVD combowhere half the videos were either of him just rapping in the studio, or the green-screen garbage

yea that shyt was a money grab IMO, obviously it worked. that album sold alot.

You know who got caught in the Range Rover with the boiii
Them videos were so fukkin cheap & lame, for example "Im Supposed To Die Tonight", they couldve done a cold ass video for that, but instead it was just 50 ridin around in his car for 3 & a half minutes with some shots of him & em in the studio in between![]()

the part about GFK is falseGet your jaw broken by Ghostface Killah and do nothing about it brehs
Fukk the wrong Harlem gangster's wife and run away to the south then pretend it's because you found religion brehs
The crazy thing is. Mase comeback was a comeback of legends. All his verses post "Welcome back" was hard as shyt.
He just looked like a god damn clown. How u a pastor saying "I got hoes in the back of the church screaming my name"
However what I don't get is why did he feel the need to go back to that style?? Welcome back and "Breathe stretch shake" was popular iirc.
