They're both GOAT level albums along with 36 Chambers

Wu-Tang probably have like 5 GOAT contending albums (OB4CL, Liquid Swords, Ironman, 36 Chambers and Supreme Clientele)

if Wu-Tang Forever was one disc, it would definitely be GOAT too

they are kinda similar albums though

and as I said, some parts of Liquid Swords has Mafioso elements, the song Killah Hills 10304 sounds like it could have been an OB4CL track

both revolve around street crime, except OB4CL plays more to the actual realised Mafioso monikers they made for themselves e.g. Lou Diamonds, Maxmillion, Tony Starks etc. and Liquid Swords does touch more on some other themes like religion
Investigative Reports also had a little mafioso feel to it. Gold as well.

But I saw it as GZA rapping more from a picture painting view on the life of a drug dealer in some spots. The Linx album had the actual mafioso alter ego names on the back of the booklet (Nas Escobar, Lou Diamonds, Tony Stark, etc) and the theme of the album was 2 dudes trying to get out of the dope game. They had U-God getting killed on Knuckleheadz and getting replaced by Capp. I dunno. I see what you mean, but I think the theme of the drug dealing stuff was on damn near every joint on Linx.

They had the girlie joint with Ice Cream. Liquid Swords may not have any sex references at all. To me Liquid Swords was more of an extension/sequel to 36 Chambers with the Chess and Samurai/Kung Fu style, where Linx was sort of off in its own lane.

yeah that's what I mean, OB4CL was more thematically focused and followed a narrative.

The part in bold I 100% agree with. It's almost like GZA takes you through the morality of each situation with regards to street crime and what have you whereas Rae/Ghost are painting pictures of their surroundings but disregarding their morals because they gotta make one big break for it before they can live free.

And yeah thematically speaking GZA was much more of a successor of the original Wu-Tang roots with the kung fu and chess shyt.
