But was it “technically” an offensive foul?

You see it called sometimes and sometimes you don’t. Seems like the push off is more popular than ever these days. What’s the consensus on the push off?

yes It was a push off but it was so subtle that you can’t call that at the end of the game especially on MJ. Honestly not sure if you call that at any part of the game. It wasn’t that blatant of a push off. He didn’t really extend his arm all the way out. It was more just a nudge.

I'd honestly just say call the really blatant shyt and trust the judgement of the referee in other cases because being that there is (unfortunately) an element of subjectivity in refereeing and the push off can be so loosely defined, there's gonna be controversy no matter what. Gotta allow for a little bit of physicality.

It looks like MJ doesn't push off all that hard I don't think I would've called it either, no matter who it was.
