Did OSU help Florida beat Oklahoma in 2009?
Did OSU help Alabama beat Texas in 2010?
Did OSU help Auburn beat Oregon in 2011?
Did OSU help Alabama beat LSU in 2012?
Did OSU help Alabama beat Notre Dame in 2013?

:lupe:

5 consecutive National Championships without OSU having anything to do with it. But keep harping back to the Florida and LSU titles in 07 and 08 like that's all people cite when it comes to SEC dominance...

SEC has bodysnatched the best teams out of the Big 10, Big 12, and Pac 10 the past several years in NC games. But morons everywhere keep regurgitating bullshyt about how the SEC is overrated. Eventually, when the same goddamn conference wins the BCS title in a division where 119 teams are eligible, you have to open your eyes and see it for what it is.

SEC >>>>>>>>>> your favorite conference :umad:

I'll play

09- Good win, although everyone stomps out OU in big games

10- I still believe Texas wins if Colt doesn't go down, their back up was able to keep it close

11- One of the Ugliest BCS games in recent memory, Horrible QB play on both sides. Cam was the difference in a close game

12- Sec vs Sec, medicore offense on both sides of the ball. But a good win I guess for Bama

13- ND lucked into the title game, if Barkley doesn't get hurt they probably lose to USC. Tells you had bad they were

In closing a couple "stompings" and a couple ugly games . Not incredibly dominant, but they do have 1or 2 elite teams a year.

The only thing I have to say about the SEC is that in the past the lack of explosive offenses plays into the better teams hands. I watch a lot of PAC-12 ball and if a elite team plays bad for a half, the game can be out of reach. Not really the case in the SEC, until the Big 12 boys came in.

Bruh i don't know how the hell y'all let Sparty move the ball like THAT through the air
Inconsistency bites you in the ass :manny:

We got some good stops in the beginning of the second half and came back from a 17 point deficit and was up 7. After those dumb ass pass interference plays and Roby banging his name nearly picking off that pass... shyt went flat, MSU turnt up, bad decisions were made, and shyt happens. :snoop:

A little town called none ya got damn bidness
Our fukking defense man... :snoop:

that's all I got to say

Offense was never a problem.

In fact.. D-Line isn't even that bad. But that secondary..... :sadbron:

WHY? why sweet merciful Jesus must history repeat itself?

We should have won that damn game.... so sad...so so sad...

OSU has failed against the pressure with the entire SHADOW OF DOUBT from the entire NATION pressing them against the wall... but you know what I'm still proud. 24-1 it's something to be grateful for...

Braxton, Hyde, and Shazier played their heart out... but 3 players can't carry a team. Not against a team like MSU. We need tall and fast players for our secondary.
. But SEC get all that talent and I know why.... but someday... we have to break this barrier

with that said..

Ohio State.

Norfeast groovin…
These are true stories Ed's hate aside. I remember I used to call them SEC state after the multiple season train they had ran on them by teams that ended up becoming big names today. OSU made the SEC a shytload of money.

2009 tells the whole story.

Oklahoma scored 60+ points 5 consecutive times to end the 2008 season. Look at the teams (and rankings) they beat.

Look at that last game. :youngsabo: 14 points!

People always trying to shyt on the SEC, saying "they don't play AMAZING defense, they just have horrible offenses!" or "they beat up on mediocre teams that are ranked highly, just because they're SEC teams!" or my favorite "look at their schedules! they have cupcake OOC games!!." These people are clueless and have revisionist history.

Oklahoma was undisputed number 1 team in the nation. If you remember, they were ranked 1, not Florida. OSU was an unstoppable offense in 06. Oregon was setting records in 10. The best you detractors can come up with is saying "the game was ugly." Ya, because you're playing arguably the other best team in the nation, from another conference... Who has won the Big Game EVERY YEAR so far for 7 straight? Is "not winning EVERY year by 40+ points against 2001 Miami" your argument? You trying to tell me Boise State or Utah was the REAL NC those years? I agree that it's an utter travesty that ND was the 2nd "best" team last year and got into the NC. But Alabama did what they SHOULD have, and embarrassed those cats. Left no doubt as to who the best team in the country was last year :yeshrug:

SEC champ consistently plays the other widely considered BEST team in the nation in the NCG, with the exception of 2011-2012 because it was an all SEC matchup

I was arguing the fact that they "body snatched" teams from every conference, when that's clearly not the case

But seriously though, the issue at hand is not OSU. If anything, a previous football powerhouse (Michigan) going limp for a solid decade is the POSTER CHILD for why the SEC has run off 7 straight and counting.

Not every year, but they did make look former #1s/#2s look bad in a way no other team had previously done that season

OSU (2x), OU, Oregon, ND never looked as bad during their seasons as they did during the NC game, vs an SEC team. :yeshrug:

Not agreeing with OP as a whole, but the start of the SEC dominance came on OSU teams that were #1 almost the entire season. And OSU last season was 12-0 and if it wasn't for their scandals and shyt, OSU would have been playing against ND in the title game last year b/c Bama had a loss (not buying that 'jumping' shyt b/c ND of all teams was #1 with their weak as schedule). So, OSU DID help Alabama beat ND, b/c if it wasn't for sanctions, OSU would have played ND last season and likely won.

Also, without the scandal, the year Pryor was kicked off the team, if he's allowed to play and Tressel is never fired, who knows they could have made it to the title game and at least made it to where an SEC team isn't playing against another SEC team for the BCS title.

As funny as it is, the SEC actually owes OSU some thanks for being ineligible for a bowl last season, b/c that got Bama back to the #2 spot.

Not disagreeing with your point, but.. just wanted to add that USC was the best team in '08. They got snubbed outta that game. I think they would've soundly beaten Florida.

Japan, but from the 989
you made Florida 'Florida' [when michigan sonned them out the next year]
you made LSU 'LSU'
you made ARKANSAS look respectable in 2011
you lost to SOUTH CAROLINA in back to back bowl games going back as far as 2001 to the GHOST of Lou Holtz

and this...i don't think we (the coli) have really absorbed the level of loss you've just taken. YOU WENT UNDEFEATED FOR TWO STRAIGHT SEASONS AND GET NIL for it....and (going back to the core thread title) you are giving these dumb slackjawed good ol boy hillbillys ANOTHER CHANCE TO GET A TITLE...because you DIDNT TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS.

Its YOUR FAULT. Nobody respects those bumpkins if you don't wet your pants in TWO BOWL GAMES and shut the SEC out this year.

You'll never be forgiven if auburn pulls this off.

AND BEFORE YOU GUYS SAY WHAT ABOUT MICHIGAN, during that streak (circa 2000) michigan defeated Auburn, Alabama, Florida (twice), Vanderbilt [who, according to @His_Excellence_Reincar, is always tough at home], and had shootouts against two other schools in bowl games :camby: this is about osu not MI.
