Lets talk about Deluxe/Collector Editions fall off..

one of the biggest scams to go along with DLC (they actually kind of go hand in hand )

how they market collectors edition now;

-Play a few days early (usually bundled with standard edition pre order)
-Get access to 1st expansion/DLC (usually just a map pack that we used to get for free, also usually bundled with standard edition pre order)
-like 3-4 in game cosmetic in game items

and... thats usually it now... before Collectors/Limited/Deluxe edition meant a lot more than that and usually justified the extra $20-30. A tin case, behind the scenes making of the game, strategy guides, etc. And it was truly limited, they only offered a select amount for sale so even if it was exclusive in game items only a few would have it. Now anyone can order it and they let you buy it after the release of the game

I was looking at Battlefronts Deluxe edition ($69.99)
you get "instant access" to 3 cosmetic items, that you can eventually get by playing the game and you get 2 exclusive... EMOTES..

mafukkas is hustling EMOTES for $10 extra not even a set of emotes, TWO emotes some shyt that the novelty wears off within the first 2 minutes of playing

I think they're about the same as they've always been. I don't think they fell off. Batman, MGSV, The Witcher 3, and many more came with the standard toys and miscellaneous stuff that CE games have always come with.

that's one game. I'm just saying game companies in 2015 aren't doing anything different in respect to the OP. I agree 100% that's its corny, I just think its been around for a lot longer than people realize and it isn't ever going to go away at this point.

Fallout gives you an actual pipboy and it got sold out within 30 mins

Mgsv gave you the bionic arm
