Mine and Whatever Concerns me
Who says Westside Connection is a classic, you dork?

I'll add Teflon Don, The Score, Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Eminem Show, Ready to Die and Reasonable Doubt. Anything KMD.

Actually, alot of people said that. I believe back in the days when I was shorty, the source gave that shyt 4.5 too.

And I agree with alot of your posts, But Aquemini is a classic. Fall back. Oh, and chill on calling the homie @Big Mel a dork. I respect dude a whole lot due to this very thread.

(Big mel are you a white man? If so, I take that back....drop dead, savage. )

Oh! Good one, based on your AVi: The great adventures of Slick Rick

Seeing that "Old head Reasonable Doubt" thread, ....I will admit that Jay-Z kinda forced people into believing the CD was something special.

It IS a great CD. But people really didn't think so initially, and then when the source re-reviewed it and gave it 5 mics :rudy:, that was corny as hell, but it also kind of solidified how Jay-Z pretty much raped your ears.

But there are also other CD's that are championed by the "masses" and "purists" as timeless pieces, and just aren't. For whatever reason, some of these works have the "classic" label attached to them, and me being me, I just can't see it? Who Am I? I AM HIP HOP. I've been around long enough and is from the same concrete that produced these tales, so my opinion is fact. In the words of the Great Angel Garcia: YOU DONT KNOW NOTHING, I KNOW EVERYTHING!

So if I say it aint a classic, it aint a classic.

And these CD's? Aint Classics, B.

Ice Cube- Amerikkkas most wanted. I literally have 2 songs of this on my ipod. I bought it. Just took off the quick interlude with Flavor Flav and Who's the Mack. Thats it. How is this justified as a game-changing, or life long collection of hip hop songs in order, I have no idea.

Dogg Pound- Dogg Food. Another CD I bought. No Songs on my ipod at all. If someone held a gun to my head and asked me to recite just 1 song from this tape, I couldn't.

Chronic 2001- Another ear rape. Where you were forced to call it classic just because of the Name attached to it. This CD is not game changing or forever listenable. To be honest.......its actually kinda wack.

Thats the 3 I can think of off top, based on their accolades constantly being talked about and heralded as music thats supposed to last forever. Hell no, them shyts is garbage, B.

And im not making this a west coast bash fest, because I started the thread straight outta Brooklyn.

But based on the circumstances behind the releases and diff. attributes ,

Smiff N Wessun first CD shyts all over Dogg Food
Capone N Noreaga 1st CD shyts all over Dogg Food

Fat Joes 2nd CD shyts all over Amerikkkas most wanted (I counted his NWA Project, and the fact that they both switched production teams, etc...like I said "circumstances")
west coast rappers over east coast beats was unheard of at that time it wasn't forced like some of today's product seems to be, both sides wanted it and a classic was the outcome.

But as I've made plainly clear, the east has more delegates and better taste on general.

I am well aware of how irritating that is to those in other areas.

But this IS hip hop. And it is from NYC.

lol

you can have all the delegates you want, but the majority (the people) decides who gets in and who doesn't..its a reason why jay & nas is respected across the states, while ghost stayed regional..

Oh yeah, anything Deltron or any of those alternative 90s westcoast groups like Souls of Mischief

Oh! Good one, based on your AVi: The great adventures of Slick Rick

NOT CLASSIC.

:dwillhuh:

That's one of the only good rap albums to come out of that time period.
