Seeing that "Old head Reasonable Doubt" thread, ....I will admit that Jay-Z kinda forced people into believing the CD was something special.

It IS a great CD. But people really didn't think so initially, and then when the source re-reviewed it and gave it 5 mics :rudy:, that was corny as hell, but it also kind of solidified how Jay-Z pretty much raped your ears.

But there are also other CD's that are championed by the "masses" and "purists" as timeless pieces, and just aren't. For whatever reason, some of these works have the "classic" label attached to them, and me being me, I just can't see it? Who Am I? I AM HIP HOP. I've been around long enough and is from the same concrete that produced these tales, so my opinion is fact. In the words of the Great Angel Garcia: YOU DONT KNOW NOTHING, I KNOW EVERYTHING!

So if I say it aint a classic, it aint a classic.

And these CD's? Aint Classics, B.

Ice Cube- Amerikkkas most wanted. I literally have 2 songs of this on my ipod. I bought it. Just took off the quick interlude with Flavor Flav and Who's the Mack. Thats it. How is this justified as a game-changing, or life long collection of hip hop songs in order, I have no idea.

Dogg Pound- Dogg Food. Another CD I bought. No Songs on my ipod at all. If someone held a gun to my head and asked me to recite just 1 song from this tape, I couldn't.

Chronic 2001- Another ear rape. Where you were forced to call it classic just because of the Name attached to it. This CD is not game changing or forever listenable. To be honest.......its actually kinda wack.

Thats the 3 I can think of off top, based on their accolades constantly being talked about and heralded as music thats supposed to last forever. Hell no, them shyts is garbage, B.

And im not making this a west coast bash fest, because I started the thread straight outta Brooklyn.

But based on the circumstances behind the releases and diff. attributes ,

Smiff N Wessun first CD shyts all over Dogg Food
Capone N Noreaga 1st CD shyts all over Dogg Food

Fat Joes 2nd CD shyts all over Amerikkkas most wanted (I counted his NWA Project, and the fact that they both switched production teams, etc...like I said "circumstances")

Whoa whoa whoa, Calm the fukk down there, cowboy.

I'd also like to offer an apology to Ice Cube and the brothers in this thread I offended with the Amerikkkas most wanted dig. Im not calling it a classic yet, or maybe ever, but this album is def. dope. Im sitting here listening to it in full once again on my Sennheiser Momentums, and this is very fresh.

I honestly think I may have had an East Coast bias at the time. This was many years ago. I bought the CD and listened but was never impressed. But as Im older now and have diff. tastes, this shyt is fresh as hell.

My other 2 stand though, and NO I will not be revisiting these albums.

shut up white boy. Ice Cube probably had ur dad shook as fukk. fukk boy.

I'm not touching BIG & Pac

I'll man up and say Wu Tang Forever

Then I'll add

East 1999 eternal
wu tang forever, really? most underrated real classic there is shyt was so classic it soldified and lost their fan base but at the same time gained a entirely new demographic. 97 without wu tang forever was wack. it was too lyrical given, there some skipperoos, but the 80 minute version is too much. much like dipsets first album which was also a true classic

supreme clienetele is the only wu album sinc eto match wu tang forevers epic nature. true classic agreed

speakerboxx/love below...... idk. because to me its wack. to someone outside of hip hop it could be a great album. ill gie it classic status only for populairty reasons

amerikkas most wanted? classic for its time. album dropped a long fukking time ago. it gets a pass. death certificate is def classic even if today i dont bump it much. i bought both those albums same day and i loved the progression of cube and bvecame an instant fan. both classic

2pac albums are all foced classics except makaveli for its nature surrounding ist release

is flesh of my flesh blood of my blood considered classic? those 2 dmx albums were great but idk about either. his first is the closest to me. ill give that classic status

i think that asap rocky first tape is a new age classic. love that shyt man

madvillain is a universal classic dont get it confused. op doomsday being an UG culy classic in the veuin of night of the living dead. def classics

whole bootcamp could have been better if you wanna be real.l sean price never said something more real than bootcamp clique aint shyt to wu tang, all tehir shyt was just not there. wu, cube, big, rakim type guys really set the classic standard JUST ABOVE everyone else. black moon was cool... smif n wessun,,, heltah skeltah... but theyw erent touchin the clan

i think jeru the damaja album si a forced hip hop purist classic cause of the premo beats. i actually dis;like a huge chunk of premos early catalog. hard to earn-moment oif truth... i think moment of truth is DEF CLASSIC.

always took de la over tribe. but both got classics

college graduate fits this thread. all his later albums are better.

I'm just being objective. I personally love it. But I do recall the knocks against it. It has aged well. I just think a certain sect was conditioned to ignore it once the climate changed.

Then you might as well say Kush and OJ by Wiz
or Blckland 66.6 by Purrp
or Quarantine by Max B
or 6 Kiss by Lil B
are all classics since he bit stole and repackaged all of their shyt.

Can't be in here calling decent mixtapes classics, breh.
