and thats why some of us choose the black market route..Even if you banned guns in there entirety, Humans are gonna possess arms whether we like it or not, Supply and Demand

that makes it worst
how you think guns get illegally sold? somebody comes buy them all
then comes to the hood and sell them at a crazy price
or they leave em on trains cuz they know somebody gonna ransack and take
not everywhere but in Southwest Detroit they leave em on trinas for kids and dumbasses to find it sound crazy but its true

if you care abour protecting your fam which i understand
you should atleast make it harder to get guns legally and illegally
different states have different laws so i dont know how it is where you at
but its nothing to get a gun registered in Michigan bro

I am with you on the fact it should be harder to get guns. In my state you need a clean record, training classes and to pass a test. Not saying its all that hard but there are requirements. Im all for training and not handing them out like candy, but at the same time, dont ban my protection tools.

so do you think every state should have the same gun laws?
i think it should just be a requirement for every state to have the same procedures

i think it should atleast take a year( evaluations, reasons, tests, training)
that way if you are serious about protecting your family and home
you have no prob waiting a year for something that can take lives
if put in the wrong hands.
you should also be required to be trained to use altenative ways of protection.

alot of dudes wouldnt go through that. but those that are serious shoudl have no prob

The black market right now for guns is a joke. Guns are legal, thus prices are not artificially inflated like they are in black markets for drugs. An eighth of chronic costs 60$ in the inflated black market, when in reality it should be 5$ if that. Imagine if a pistol was like 10grand.

not sure where you from but guns are "cheaper" here when bought on the black market, scratched off serials and bodies can get you a gun on a great discount

Example:

Harry's Army and Navy sells 38special for $499

Harry on the block sells 38 special for $150 see what im saying.

Yall are missing the damn point. you don't know if the person in YOUR home has a weapon or not that may prove to be fatal. Who gives a phuck about possessions when there is an immediate threat in your home.

The person is IN YOUR HOME violating your own personal sense of freedom and security (protected by the Constitution).

If you can't feel safe within the walls of your home where are you gonna feel safe at :damn:

My point is a gun isn't the only the only way to protect yourself or your home. And with all the negatives that come with gun possession they aren't even the best protection you can have.

The only two viable solutions I have thought of in the wake of these massacres are:

1.) Ban the sales of firearms online.

2.) Have every single citizen interested in owning a weapon pass a psychological examination to make sure they are mentally capable of owning a lethal weapon.

That's my point.. In a true black market guns would be EXPONENTIALLY more expensive.. We're not in a true black market because guns are legal.

Thank you for understanding, that was my whole point, and I'm all for legislation that limits access to guns for specific persons, I just don't think it's something that can be gotten rid of.

I'm from Jersey by the way and it's a bytch and a half to get a registered gun, you need a ton of paperwork approval, and some classes. Its damn near impossible to get one, thats why most of us head to Philly where it can be bought like candy off the street.

I understand you now. I use a number of methods to protect my home trust me, dogs, baseball bats, knives, cameras, double bolted locks, proper lighting, etc etc.

cant afford ADT :sadcam:

don't get me wrong. I advocate the possession of firearms however it should be a last resort.

:beli: no dude there's been few discussions and more individual levels of bullshyt movie scenarios. quite frankly the pro gun individual responses are :heh: at best.
for example meach asked someone what would they do if the intruder already came into the house with a gun pointed at the poster and the poster instead of addressing said scenario ignored it and painted another scenario of them busting his guns as soon as they heard a noise. :ld:

If you already have a gun pointed at your head there's not much you can do. Pro-gun people are here to protect and PREVENT the situation from arising in the first place.

I think that was his point. it's an illegal market for a (semi) legal product. as opposed to the illegal drug market, where it's an illegal market for an illegal product

stolen shyt (aka the majority of 'illegal' guns) in general is like that. whatever you sell it for is 100% profit. that's why some crackhead trades your $1000 mac for a $20 rock

That's exactly what the problem is strict gun laws in jersy mean nothing if you can just drive to Philly and buy one from Walmart. Like i said I don't advocate an outright ban but saying "I need my guns for protection" is not a good justification for leaving the laws how they are.

There is no scenario if a person is already in your house with the gun already pointed to your head. You are in a submissive position at that point theres no point in even arguing that.

the scenarios involved in the discussion included being alerted to a presence in your home. Investigating said presence (checking to see who is there), assessing (notices person in house checks if weapon is in their possession) then eliminating that presence.
