Its basically a remake of the 1920s lost world where they bring a dinosaur to london and it goes on a rampage, the story follows the same plot

It wasn't a bad movie, I was older when the movie came out and I though it was almost kind of a weird character study trapped in a kids movie. Conceptually the movie was ahead of it's time.

I did see this in theaters in 1991 with my Mom, and I think I enjoyed it, but it's something of a slog of a movie, and garishly overdone, overstuffed, and over indulgent. Comparable to Altman's Popeye, visually just nonstop and everything from the good fight to the scenes with Hoffman just seem to go on and on, it's a very overdone movie.

I used to love this movie...Havnt seen it in a loooong time tho...I feel like some of the hate is cause its Spielberg and clearly in the bottom half of his filmography.

Never knew people disliked this movie. It always seemed like a favorite among people I know, but I guess most people I know that know the film are in my age range so there is nostalgia attached.

I wasn't aware that it was hated. I liked it a lot as a kid. Ionno if I'll say that I loved it, cuz for some reason it wasn't one of those films that I watched a lot. But it was dope to me as a kid and I've been wanting to rewatch it for years now, especially with my daughter just to see how she feels about it.

It even had one of the better video games based on the movie from what I could remember. It was an easy game and quick to finish, as I beat it in like day 2 of my blockbuster rental, but it was fun.
