And Wiggins may not match Gay who has the purer stroke of the two, which would put him the Harrison Barnes category

Wiggins advanced stats as a freshman: http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/player/kansas/andrew-wiggins

Gay's advanced stats as a freshman: http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/player/connecticut/rudy-gay

So despite the fact Wiggins was hyped to be the next LeBron, his production in college suggest he's the next Rudy Gay. Their stats mirror each other than the fact Gay's FG% (46%) is much better than Wiggins (43% :rudy:) and Wiggins gets to the line as a freshman better than Gay his first year. (Gay also excelled at blocking shots but I'll let that slide as an anomaly)

Rebound rate
Assist rate
Offensive rating
True Shooting %

... are all damn near identical. Yeeeeet, I'm sure many of you will ignore the stats and continue to think Wiggins is something he's not (superstar potential :laff:), but hey, I can't help you there. Both players have +size and athleticism but lack ball handling, agility, and +shooting ability to maxmize their physical gifts and be true franchise players at the next level.

To my real basketball fans, now dap me :blessed::blessed::blessed:

So you are basing all this just on college stats? Look up Paul George's college stats and tell me how he's doing what he's doing right now?

I've watched every game Kansas has played in conference and almost every minute Wiggins has played since January. The guy will be a SUPERSTAR. When I see him play, I see a guy trapped in a system that is not in tune with his skills. I've actually been incredibly impressed by his shooting this year. His 3pt% has been nice and so has his ft%. In fact the biggest weakness he has now is what everyone thought was his biggest strength. He has been missing alot of shots in the paint. His finishing isn't where it needs to be right now. He's also very weak in traffic. Rather than muscling through the contact, he tries to much to avoid contact which leads to awkward attempts near the basket.

His defense is already there. Lateral quickness and mobility are incredible. And unlike alot of young players he doesn't gamble for highlight steals or blocks. He plays fundamental man defense and challenges every shot. He also has impressive length. He'll be a mainstay on the all-defensive teams if he continues to put up the effort. Once he gains some more muscle and improves his ability to finish through contact, he'll be a beast in the league. His catch and shoot ability are already ahead of LeBron at this age. His handle and shot off the dribble need to improve. But then again Durant's handle wasn't sublime coming out of college and we all see what he is now.

In 2-3 years, you'll look like a moron for this post. Wiggins has the tools to be the best player in the NBA.

Paula George's freshman year was better than Wiggins as a freshman. Thanks for bringing him up.

Additionally, George was obviously his team's best player. He couldn't count on a squad of 5-star recruits to open the floor for him or help create open shots off ball reversal.

If anything, Kansas offense is helping Wiggins from being totally exposed as basketball player. He has a team around him good enough to not force Wiggins to be in situations where he would struggle even more than he is now. Really, dude is shooting 43% playing on a stacked team. What you think would happen if he had to create for himself and others? :laff:

This dude really came with the the "he's not showing all his game because the offense doesn't allow him to" excuse. Wiggins only shoots the most on the whole team! Guess he's got the freedom to jack shots but not make them. :laff:

You're the worst type of fan -- an uninformed one.

Compare Paul George playing in a week conference to Wiggins in the big 12 where every conference game is like murderers row

Compare Wiggins in a Kansas structured non iso plays , non fast break system to Rudy gay under Jim calhoun

Raymond Felton averaged 13/4/7 as a rookie in college. Russell Westbrook averaged 13/4/4 as a sophomore after only getting 9 minutes/game as a freshman. Westbrook is the new Raymond Felton? Idk if Wiggins will be better than Gay but I wouldn't use college stats as your argument.

The kid is not even in the league so everything people are saying is just educated guesses. We have seen guys in college ball out and not be shyt and we have seen average guys become ballers. That being said all the hype so far has been for nothing. Why of all schools did he pick Kansas???
