Man, coaches been pulling this shyt way before any of that existed. Those were introduced to try to give the players even a modicum fairness in the whole ordeal.

I agree and I think that people complaining about it was valid. If his contract is up, he really doesn't owe anything to anyone outside of his family. Maryland's situation looks shaky right now without having an AD.

I'm definitely happy that players get to call their own shots now because a coach's contract shouldn't be something that kids should have to think about when picking schools. Nothing wrong with finding out how many years a coach has left on the contract, but looking at buyout language is crazy.

Yup. The timing and how he handled it is terrible. But him leaving isn’t a bad thing. He had 4 years left on his contract and he’s an average coach

The articles that I read never mentioned the buyout at all. I was thinking that his contract was up. Dude is definitely shady. Can't respect a coach that doesn't honor his commitments and hides from his team by skipping a team dinner before the game.

It's a business. They asked him questions and he answered. With NIL and the transfer portal in place, I can't really care if a coach leaves when he gets the chance to. To tell your team over zoom is weak though. Man up and tell those players face to face.

He' s not good enough of a coach to be a dikkhead. But MD needs to step its game up from a resource standpoint for the bball program. Locksley gets whatever the fukk he wants apparently on the football side. There's no reason the bball coach should feel like he's struggling to get the same. Why the football gets that much support makes no sense cuz they'll never hang with the big dogs in the big10.
