Look at Bush's production since he left the saints

yup hell you can go back further to the lamar smith, ricky williams days, minus deuce mccallister few seasons :manny:

ingram is the type of back that needs like 20-25 carries a game to wear down defenses, he wont be that type of back in new orleans

he would flourish to me on like a team like the new york jets or pitt steelers

I would say he had the benefit of having such great offensive line's at Bama. But all of you made a good point about the Aints system. :obama:

Dude is officially a Heisman bust in my book at this point
we got rid of reggie for this guy :scusthov: :childplease:
so far his career numbers

166 carries 601 yds 3.6 avg 6 tds :noah:

i don't want to hear excuses about him being injured last year
having to change and adapt to the speed of the nfl dude's a bust
chris ivory should be playing instead of him

he better start showing me something

but for right now i'll trade him for a dlineman

he was JUST a GUY on tape

:dead: at anyone thinking he was gonna be anymore then that

there was no reason for a team that passes so damn much like NO to draft him. that first round pick coulda been used elsewhere

yep.

the worst part is that you can tell the saints feel obligated to play him despite his horrible production just because of him being such a high pick. ain't nothing worse than seeing a team trot out an unworthy player and the team suffering as a result just because of his lofty draft status and collegiate accolades... :beli:

they really could use that pick to help their defense right now.

i didnt get the pick when it went down, put him on the Cards or Jets and he'd look better. didnt think he was a future star like i do Richardson, but man his production is weak as hell

Sproles' role is different than most backs, he fits but Chris Ivory came out of nowhere and took some of his carries. i only see him in the 2 TE/Big sets

he could've set the tone against gb last year in the first game of the season and got in on the 1yd line to win the game but did he nope dude is a pick thats it not a name not a decoy, etc he's a pick i can honestly see him getting traded somewhere and he could go to the jets their rb committee is banged up right now but we need defensive help and he's not helping drew or himself with these stats

Ingram could be a great back getting 20 carries a game... But he's had injury issues going back to Alabama and he physically isn't the most impressive RB. Those are legit worrries. there is a reason he slid so far in the draft.

once again, they went back in the draft to get him because EVERY running back on our roster was injured during the year and this was before Brees talked Sproles into coming to NO. They went into Seattle that year with dudes that hadn't had a single carry the entire year and a fresh off an injury Reggie Bush. At the time running back was a concern. And it was coming off a year were our offense clicked because of how well our running backs fit into the offense.

a lot of people that don't watch the Saints play on the regular and just see the highlights with Drew throwing bombs don't get how it gets set up by how they work the defense with screens for Pierre Thomas, etc. delayed draws with Sproles/Bush/Pierre, using PT,Sproles, etc as extra receivers on slants. Running backs have a place in the O just not for rushing exclusively.

and he was the highest rated back in the draft:yeshrug: at least try to get WHY they drafted him. Its just hindsight that makes you say(and for now, maybe know) they should have gotten someone else.

Mark Ingram was a weird pick for the Saints to make especially when that pick could've been better used to get an actual position of need, like backup O-Line or D-Line or even an OLB. I understand the injury concerns they had that season, but you know what hindsight is 20-20, sometimes you pick the best player available and it doesn't pan out.

running back was a need at the time. and they also used every other pick on defensive players. Cameron Jordan was picked before Mark Ingram.

and the 3rd round pick of that draft, LB Martez Wilson, won the Chargers game for them this year and has been playing well.
