I think Nas just gave those artists a platform to put out those albums and collaborated for the fun of it while using it as marketing ploy. I dont think Nas or Mass Appeal had any input on how those albums were written, produced, mastered etc. I didnt like how they marketed it though, it kinda felt like some We Are The World shyt feeding off the run that Nas and Hitboy created. Regardless, they were able to get 7 rap legends to collectively drop projects so mission accomplished.

Light Years seems like something Nas did to compliment the hip hop museum run, he's been preparing for. I could definitely see him and Premo try again to get it "right".

To be honest all the Mass Appeal legend albums are not bad, but I don't think they lived up to the hype IMO.

The De La Soul was the best of the bunch and even that one felt like something was off.

Tbh I listened to light years once and have no desire to listen to it again. Big L album was recycled verses, ghost album was all over the place, mobb album was okay…loved Rarkwons album. Slick Rick shyt was okay with no replay value.
