Let's talk about Religion

I remember studying up on Islam and Buddhism. I had grown up in a Baptist church but I brushed up on that as well. I was amazed at how the Quran had a lot in common with the Bible. It's definitely likely they have similar origins. Buddhism seemed more peaceful(you don't see any murdering off nonbelievers or sacrificing the unborn in Buddhism) and had you to look within yourself instead of really looking into a creator for peace. In the end, they all deal with finding a Love that ultimately makes you a better person. Buddhism got straight to the punch. The other religions wanted to lay out laws about slaughtering folks that didn't share your views among other things. It's obvious to any thinking person that the vast majority of religious texts are full of parables meant to teach.....but then you have people taking it literally and you get the mess that's in the Middle East. You can tell some folks want that here in the states. I look at them like . Parables is the only way..

With that said, Proverbs is .

I find it weird how Buddhism teachings and some of Jesus teachings are so similar or the story of Vishnu resembles Jesus coming to Earth in human form. Also the many religions that have some kind of flood story.

There is a running conspiracy theory that Jesus is actually based on earlier pagan myths. But when you look deeper into it the theories aren't as straightforward as they seem. It's interesting stuff to study.

Haven't studied them in depth....however I do find it interesting that Horus is atop that pyramid on the one dollar bill. The Founding Fathers definitely studied up on it. Something always stuck with me though. Many Egyptian religions speak of a Sun God. Sun God....Sun of God.....Son Of God?

I've always thought that all religions were, at some point, one. Then people started taking what they like and interpreting it differently and adding their own spin to it.
There are just too many similarities to old religions to be a coincidence.

think this comes from the Gilgamesh Epics and The Atharsis Tablets. Also if you look into the Code of Hammurbi its damn near a mirror to certain thing which are spoken about in Deuternomy
