this is not legal...that dude is fouling. I've never seen Duncan do mess like this over and over and over again without getting 'SOME' fouls called on him. If the refs called it right dude would be in foul trouble every game.
In the first pic his hands are up. Melo was moving towards the basket. The second one is probably a foul if Hibbert is making contact. He's clearly forward. But if JR is leaning back, and avoiding contact, then it's not a foul. We're just looking at a picture, i'd like to see a video

which way do you want it? do you want the offensive player to move to the basket for it not to be a foul or do you want the offensive player to not move toward the basket for it not to be a foul? you can't have it both ways.

bottom line is the guy is fouling

you ain't been paying attention to elite defensive bigs breh

i heard about this rule when I was young... as long as a guy goes straight up with his hands vertical going towards the ball and not at the defender, it should be a no call and hailed as great defense

Hibbert does get away with putting his arms horizontal at times but he also does a good job at applying this rule most of the time.

Watch tape of M Gasol, Duncan, Noah, Chandler and all of them do this fundamentally.
