Gas got cut off and we had to boil water, to take a bath. Used a propane tank to heat up water in a big metal pan took like a hour to get hot, plus it was five of us. One time the boiling water spilled on my momma foot, burned her leg and caused it to swell for like two weeks, man was we struggling during dat period. Remembered when we aint have cable me n my siblings had to play in our basement for 5-7 hours daily to entertain ourselves. Don't get me started on those hot summer days without the a/c

Heating the house with the oven.

Stuffing windows with covers to keep the winter draft from coming in.


Sleeping in winter coats.
