If its the same story at the All-Star break next year, then ok you got a point. Until then, Id hold off on shytting on Rondo. He's got everything working against him this year.

Last time a star guard came back from this injury and played like his old self, he re-injured himself.

I'm more than ok with Rondo taking it easy for a while especially with my team going nowhere this year. Give him back his full health and a summer where he can actually practice with a bunch of rookies and sophomores and I think he'll actually be back to his old self. You can judge him all you want this year but its under false pretense IMO

What does back to his old-self mean anyway? Back to putting up 18 PPG? Ah he's never done that. Back to being the best player on the team without HOF/All-Star talent and carrying them offensively? Ah he's never done that. The point you're missing is that, what you see now is what you get. He's never gonna be this GREAT player that all yall have dreamt up over the years.

Yet we would've beat the Magic in 09 if Rondo had a jumpshot. Go back and watch how many times Rondo's man left him to double Pierce. That's the series right there. The Magic never had a defender that could hold Pierce 1v1 throughout the big 3 era(ex. 09-10 series where he destroyed them).

The only credit I give Rondo for is the Cavs series in the 09-10 series. If I'm not mistaken, Garnett and Rondo carried us that series.
