First of all,

MMG is the best option for independent artists to get their dreams (music out) out. Let me reestablish that since people want to accuse me of hating. YMCM, GOOD, TDE, Rocnation, none of those labels are dropping albums (Not EPs & mixtapes) like MMG.

Just because you’re a fan doesn't mean you can't give an opinion or disagree. So I state again that Rick Rozay and Gucci Pucci mismanaged Meek's debut. He was just as hot as Wale if not hotter in 2011 and should've dropped. Hell, he could’ve dropped in early 2012 before Self Made 2 and done better than he did in Oct.

And please don't get me started on French Montana. I got into with Israeli about him signing to Bad Boy being stupid if Gucci Pucci made an offer

I think a lot of hiphop heads undervalue the talent of making hits.

Lyrical masterpieces are always held in High regard, but to be able to make songs that move on the charts cycle after cycle is impressive.

Meek has not figured out what it takes to keep making hits.

He released his intro as the second single :snoop:

meek been making non-stop hits since like 2008. yall just caught on late.

kinda like how people act as if 50 cent was a 1 album wonder, when in reality he was making noise years before grodt.

I don't know why meek doesn't go back and re-release those records on a major label. the south been doing that for like 15 years now. tho, it would be a departure from his more dumbed-down stylings of the past 2 years.

My Pops Forever RIP
Rick Ross dropped the ball on Meek. I know he was almost forgotten after his deal with T.I. fell through but this brother was neck and neck w/ Kendrick Lamar before each of their albums dropped.

If you go back two years (2011 for you @ROFL_GUY ass nikkas) Meek had three singles worthy of the release of a debut album. I'm a Boss, Tupack Back, and House Party were everywhere. The buzz leading into the I'm a Boss remix (which ended up being forgettable, was huge)

Instead of dropping the album the same year as Wale's Ross & Gucci Pucci decided to just drop Wale. Wale was the safe artist, already had an established fan base and captured enough buzz that year worthy of a followup to his first project which bricked with a Lady GaGa feature.

Meek still maintained a large amount of momentum heading into 2012 but his singles for the debut lacked the "it" his singles had in 2011.

Young N Gettin it W/ Kirko Bangz :heh: nikka fukk Kirko, Future?
Amen dropping 4 months before the album :heh:

Ross & Gucci Pucci you need to do better.. Meek should at least be Gold

French... :heh: oh French

I don't even know where to begin.. breh why didn't you just sign to Maybach. We warned you about fukking with Puff. Puff caking off all those smash street singles you dropping. At least Ross would've gotten your project released so you could really troll @ROFL_GUY & Burlington (Burlington = 50 )

Ross & Pucci need to stop over analyzing shyt

He IS on MMG

I find both of them nikkaz corny...

That whole YMCMB/French Montana Coke Boyz/MMG love fest is a bunch of wack ass nikkaz poolin' their ''talents'' cause they cant make hot shyt by themselves....

The only exception is Drake and Lil' Wayne, and both them talented but fakkits...

Ross didn't drop the ball on anything if not for him Meek would still be on the shelf. TI didn't know what to do with Meek.
Meek is doing a lot of shows and getting paid a lot of money. His album probably would have sold more if he was a more well rounded artist. He's kinda hard to listen to over the course of an album but he has the energy & enough crowd pleasers in his catalog to turn a show out. Honestly I'm not a fan of dude but if I had to spend $15-20 bucks on Meek and I had the option between buying his CD and a ticket to his show, I'm going to the show.

As far as French Montana goes, there's no proof that ANYONE actually ever liked French Montana as an individual artist.
At first people liked him because he was moving with Max. Most people respected his hook & adlib game but I don't know anyone who was looking for an album. Then Max got locked up and he bounced around for a bit. No real love for the fans, just industry connections. Harry Fraud really played a huge part in bringing French back into the mix, but when it comes time for the album French can't afford those samples. Half of the people who were rocking were him were immediately turned off. People kinda wanted him to win because he's NYC, but he's not a standout talent. He's just a smart dude who knows how to build relationships & moves in all the right circles. He doesn't have that many people that are checking for anything/everything he does.

French would probably do well behind the scenes, if he had some real talent under his wing he could take them to the next level.

And 160k first week for Wale is a brick now?
lulz.
He's got big radio records and he's a terrific performer, no need to pity him just because J. Cole sold more.

I'd also like to note that NO ONE besides Cam (w/ Dipset) has done what Ross has done with MMG. Ross helped these guys become real bosses. None of the MMG guys need Ross to stand next to them to be hot. All they have to do is drop hot music. Could we say that about crews/labels like State Prop, D-Block, G-Unit, Shady, DTP, etc.... NO. They always needed that cosign from the boss to stay relevant.

this is ridiculous.

meek speaks on plenty of chit. do yall listen to music or do yall just skim thru it?

this idea that Kendrick & cole speak on way more chit than meek does is bullchit. they just run around flashing the conscious tag and some of yall choose to eat it up.

There are some albums so groundbreaking that their impact is felt almost instantaneously (case in point, Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city); but I don't think meek's album was that kind of album, that's why we don't talk about him anymore.

I used to love meek but when I heard kendrick's album I was like " ok, I'm gonna support that kid and abandon meek"

Mismanaged? :dahell: People don't fukk with these nikkas to the point they're willing to pay their money for an album. shyt isn't that complicated. But y'all can keep depending on how many whips you hear playing a song to determine popularity if you want:yeshrug:

Nobody wanted a French album. French is a hot record guy. MMg blew it wit meek wit that bull with Kirko. Thats not a single or even worth being on a album

French reminds me of NORE a little bit except without a good album under his belt. French can't hold the weight of a full album down by himself and even with a ton a features can't maintain a viable presence on his own record like Game can.
