But who has majority of the disposable income to drop 1500.00 on some used already worn sneakers...and who is goofy enough to spend it...that ain't black kids and there wasn't enough Asians involved to support this kind of market...I think the answer is obvious:francis:
Such a market blossom due to the internet. No way your homies were about to buy your trashed kicks.
Which follows my original point, that the investment ability changed the game, not a single race

I'm selling my collection to a buyer in Midtown tomorrow for 18k to put towards my car down payment.

And I'm sitting here thinking about it, like the shoe game is fukking gross now. Raffles and Camping and all this other bullshyt. nikkas rioting over Jays and shyt.

I started thinking to myself like man :patrice: when did it get this bad? And then it hit me :dwillhuh:

CACS :mjlol:

Back in the day, white people didn't wear Jays and shyt. In fact, they use to joke on nikkas for spending so much bread on kicks. 'You spent 180 on sneakers
download
"

Then in 2009 or so, Space Jam 11s dropped and the social media aged started and all of a sudden white people started fukking with Jays :scust:

I was thinking back to when I went to first Nyc sneaker con in 2009. And no lie, there were BARELY any White folks. It was mostly blacks, Asians and Latinos. I might have seen 3 white people that whole day.

And as soon as these people caught wind of Jays and Nikes, the whole cultures got ruined. The quality is lower than ever, I noticed it when those Flu Games dropped in 2010 or late 2009, and the quality was :scusthov: and they still sold out.

There was even a point in time where the flight club in NYC was a hidden gem. Before they merged the stores on Broadway. You could go in there and it wouldn't be packed. Just a hidden gem among real sneakerheads. Now? shyt is a hipster haven.

There is no more sneaker culture. I know this seems trivial as fukk, but you gotta understand that this was a part of my childhood :wow:

White people wearing Tims and Jays now just makes me throw up. Nothing is sacred :scust:

So I'm bowing out of the game. Every time these people touch something it gets ruined :scust:

Part of it is the constant influence alot of mainstream blogs and online publications spew out all this street fashion and make it more likable to hyoebeast and wanna-be hipsters who read about shoe releases on social media yet have no clue. I remember buying air Jordan's and reading and knowing the whole history behind certain shoes and what scoring milestone he had and what not. Complex magazine and others make alot of lookbooks and overhype certain sneakers which give it a gateway for your average Joe to want to go out and buy your next sneaker release so they look cool. It's the same generation of corny street urban hipsters that actually buy the $300 OFFWHITE or Hoodbyair t shirts and ruin Comme des garcon. I can't say I'm an OG but I remember buying my Cement 3s back in 2011 by simply calling and reserving a pair of going early in the morning before I had class. Now I'm running around the fukking city making raffles and using my friends name and shyt to hopefully get lucky :francis:

Ooooohhhh. I get it. We aren't on the same page. I'm not talking about just lining up. I'm talking about CAMPING. Meaning being out there the night before and waiting for the store to open. I'm sure there were lines in the 90s but no camping.

@*DalMem* @Mafioso

breh,...they camped out back then.
it just has spun completely out of control.
at least back then, i knew the people wearing them.
really had a genuine love for the j's, to do that.

what's funny is,...back when the socalled first holy grail dropppe the ii's.
i bet none of these new sneakerheads even ask for them.
so, i know they fugaz off that alone.

But the investment ability changing is a direct correlation to white kids with ridiculous disposable income coming into the shoe market (Asian kids play ball too...don't get me wrong)...black kids will always have kicks cuz we generally set the tone of what kicks are fly or not...but the eBay world belongs to Cacs and Asians...and Cacs were wearing Birkenstocks Vans and Chucks throughout the 90's...that type market is wearing Brons J's and foams today...but the market isn't ruined though...it's just more exclusive

Breh I can't believe how bad it is now. Raffles and Campimg and all this fukkery for sneakers. It's gross to me as an OG head.
NOW?

this thread shoulda been made years ago. some of the lil wayne stans starting hoppin on jayz when eh said " hello its the martian/space jams jordans!" in 2009 but concords was the downfall in 2011. it's been pure shyt since and i quit years ago.

it really pisses me off to see what was once a niche community i was apart of be b*stardized and commercialized.. jordans used to come out maybe every few months..now the release damn near weeky. big releases multiple times a MONTH. and the same shoes come out every 2 years most of the time.. :scust:

i hope the bubble bursts, but it may be generational..buncha young fukks who never even saw mj play and don't get the meaning..they just wanna look cool on social media and then re-sell the shoes

disposable income? breh you have broke black dudes paying ridiculous amounts for kicks, now and back then, what makes you think there weren't both broke whites and asians doing the same? The point is, sneakers were not delivered to only black communities, so being into sneakers were not limited to a certain community

You can't set tones of what kicks are fly when black creatives in the sneaker industry are non-existent

Instagram ruined it for me. That and Jordan Brand quality went to shyt when they switched factories in '06. I'm glad to have kicked the hobby though and my wallet is better for it.

this too.. the current releases of the past few years are literally the same exact shyt leather from the mid 00s fakes.

and then they wanna use the good shyt from the 90s and sell it for a higher price and call it "remastered" :mjlol:

these dudes really are suckers.

the two's is what created all the shyt any body in a fly pair of sneakers does.
when, the one's were out.
nikkaz weren't really on them and they were out for a long time before the two dropped.
i had three pair, of the jordan i.
two sky jordan's and one real pair of air jordan's.
back when you need to be a size six to get real air jordan's.
then they changed that shoe size on the three's for the sky jordan's.

finally got an adult pair of AIR JORDAN's, on the second pair of three's.
for the start of school that year at jc penny.
that had just started selling jordan's.
back then, footlocker and chernin's was the only place to get jordan's.
