Cuz...the average black dude ain't spending over 1k on kicks...period, maybe on some high end joints...but not on sneakers. And even though most shoe designers are white the shoe gets popular based in the streets opinion...the only Nike shoes that are hot today are the shoes the streets certified throughout the 90's and late 80's...suburban white kids didn't put nikkas on to Jordans...that was basically the other way arounddisposable income? breh you have broke black dudes paying ridiculous amounts for kicks, now and back then, what makes you think there weren't both broke whites and asians doing the same? The point is, sneakers were not delivered to only black communities, so being into sneakers were not limited to a certain community
You can't set tones of what kicks are fly when black creatives in the sneaker industry are non-existent
.
Not true. As someone WHOS been involved for most my life, there was a point in time where white folks were NOT interested. It just wasn't cool for them to spend that much cash on sneakers. I'm not saying there weren't ANY white sneaker heads. I'm saying that for the most part it wasn't something they were interested in.

some of the shyt you read on here is hilarious...
I been buying sneakers since I was 9-10, we had sneaker groups, we would walk to athletes foot to cop new drops, it was a mix of black and whites, are we the exception or is your thinking flawed?
Only on the coli you will find people saying white people ruined the sneaker game and created hypebeasts
I will just leave this here for you...
