:mjlol: GTFOH with your sundays best dress shoe, easter sunday wearing ass.... :camby:

:dead:

Nah but on the real, it has gotten real corny over the past couple of years. I buy them because I like certain colorways & styles, and I WEAR my shyts.

Perfect example. With tomorrow's release. it's first come, first serve at the Niketown on 57th street in midtown. So they weren't allowing people to line up, but you see a whole bunch of scavengers just walking, loitering around with crates & chairs to sit on so they can camp overnight. And it's people if ALL ages & nationalities. The one thing they did have in common, was a lot of them was dusty looking & couldn't dress for shyt.

ebay and exclusives did this. Let me throw Ye in this too. Used to simply make athletic shoes. I love to see collections like that, where its just authentic old sneakers. Now it has turned into stamp collecting.

Cuz...the average black dude ain't spending over 1k on kicks...period, maybe on some high end joints...but not on sneakers. And even though most shoe designers are white the shoe gets popular based in the streets opinion...the only Nike shoes that are hot today are the shoes the streets certified throughout the 90's and late 80's...suburban white kids didn't put nikkas on to Jordans...that was basically the other way around:stopitslime:.

And yeah sneakers weren't sent into black only neighborhoods...but sneaker companies have always known to market there products to the BLACK COMMUNITY...or u don't remember Spike Lee in all those Jordan commercials...oh, u thought Nike was targeting Orange County with that campaign run:stopitslime:
Marketing dept, strategic promotion campaign and Jordan being a winner is what put blacks and non-blacks onto Nike, not the streets

Paying $ for trashed kicks was due to the basic desire of having exclusives and the lack of re-releases by shoe companies. Especially when the shoe companies were shipping exclusives to certain countries, then that contributed to the hype because of the basic desire of getting exclusives

You could find examples of a "average black dude" paying a grip for a fawking belt, why is it hard for you to believe they won't pay for trashed exclusive kicks for their collection?

The concord and bred 11's came out my senior year in high school. And it wasn't a hassle to buy them. It was just than a lot of people couldn't afford retail.

Another thing I notice is these sneaker companies have failed when it comes to new designs. With the exception of Lebron and KD there are no decent sneakers coming out. The 80's and 90's had the flyest kicks so all they can do is recycle the old shyt. I just get :mjpls: when a 19 year old tries to school nikkas on Jordan's that originally came out when he wasn't even sperm in his daddy's but sack.
That's one of my biggest problems. All those kids wanna buy Js cuz their Js. We wanted to wear Js cuz they were worn by the man himself. It's hard for me to take these kids serious when they never even saw the man play

I'm not saying black kids don't spend foolish money on foolish things...but even though a lot of black kids cop those belts...majority don't...and even still the belts are poppin cuz u can get a high brand on your body for around 150-200...I saw the ny allstar foams for 3000.00...BLACK KIDS ARE NOT SUPPORTING THIS TYPE OF MARKET...Nike knows they're clientele...they know trappers, rappers, white upper class kids, Asian shoe nuts and finally made it professionals will spend that kind of dough. But that market is stabilized by the cac suburban kid and the Asian collector. And the streets did make Nike pop...after run dmc's run with Adidas and LL run with British knights trust Nike took note of the urban effect on shoe sales:usure:...and then you have to ask what made people all of a sudden want these exclusives so badly...in 99 I remember walking in to an Az. Footlocker and buying the royal blue Jordan 6 in less than 10 min. with no hassles.

After 03' 04' and Kanye's fashion hold of the young urban music listener all of that changed. You now had and still do to a certain degree ALL of the youth finding one type of style hot...increased demand slim supply...NIKE CAPITALIZED :mjcry:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
These fukk boys have even made it easier for the replica/fake market to :eat:
Now a days you honestly don't know what you're really spending $300 dollars on.

And one other thing. The notion that the supply is limited, that's a MYTH. Supply is abundant but they intentionally hold back supply to keep demand high. Be it on a global, national or local level companies are hoarding shoes just to maintain their value. Why else would mom and pop shoe stores charge $300 for some Jordans :mjpls: when the suggested retail value is only $175?

I've also noticed retros that are hot for that moment will experience a up tick in price and once everyone has a pair and they become played out the price drops. I got a pair of bred air flight 89's. I've seen the price be as high as $140 and as low as $79.99.

What kind of heat do you have that will make somebody pay that?
OP:
Maint of a car that expensive would break your balls. Save up $5k and buy a used Ford outright. Down payments are for houses -- not cars.

Change the way you think. Read the Wall Street Journal. Subscribe to Forbes. Take some options trading classes so that you can invest in something other than...sneakers.
