Meek and Wale had fanbases but them shyts was not huge. Wale debut flopped and he aint bounce back until hids verse on no hands and that way with Ross and jeremiah, meek introduction to the world was on tupac back. They both def needed Ross co-signs at the time

Fair enough but they had bases. Wale still did 30k first week, without ross. Thats like someone snatching ace hood up today(did 30k on his last album) and him doing 150k the next time and them not saying ace hood had a fanbase before.

I will give you that no hands popped wale off. He even said it on the breakfast club. He got the letter from interscope terminating the contract and one week later no hands hit in atlanta. Of course jimmy came running back saying do you wanna do it again but he decided not to go back to them.

Also fair that meek intro to MAINSTREAM was tupac back not to the world. He had a solid base in the philly, jersey, dmv area. Meek had Flamerz 1-3 and Mr Phili mixtape before tupac back. Meek had dem street hits hottest in tha city, im so fly etc. Meek was selling out decent venues before he signed with ross

but i do agree that ross got too much dead weight on the label, shoulda just focused on meek, gunplay and wale :manny:

tracy t is meh, fat trel isn't that good, stalley is trash, rockie fresh is trash, omarion is washed up

I still don't understand why artists do this, tryna capitalise on their buzz but they just water down their overall product. Even Young Money did it, signing a bunch of cats who will never release an album.

50 did the same with G Unit when he signed Olivia, Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Spider Loc, Hot Rod etc when he should have just focused on the core 3.

If Meek doesn't drop his second album in the next few months MMG lost.

I think Meek about to kill with this next alblum but outside of that Ross never really was a unit pusher like that. MMG is more of a "for the streets" label than a label about actually making hits and moving units.

Record labels need these extra acts to get signed so they can use that tax write-off, spend all kinds of "promo money" on projects that will NEVER come out. That's how/why the IRS finally catches up to the sloppy ones 7-10 years later.

i dont see it bein any different from when he had julia talkin on his first one tbh :manny: prolly gon have Jerry talk a lil bit between records, his usual observation type humor (which i like) but it's like cmon fam, you been usin this shyt for 6 years now :smhcraig:

that's like if lupe drops a new Fahrenheit 1/15 tape tomorrow, we gon be like really breh :why:

I def feel what you're saying, but it's been a while since he last visited the concept, and to see it on a major label scale I'm interested. I'd take a concept album >>> a standard album most days of the week.

Plus any reason for new Jerry is good with me :ehh:.

Can definitely see what you're saying though breh so it's all good.

exactly lol..its to easy. Like The dude K camp from atlanta lol!! do you really see him putting out an album 3-4 years from now LMAO!
Interscope signed him to take full advantage off money baby and cut her off....Its easy money. They get all the single sales, you kno he is 360'd up so thats easy show money as well. I dont blame em, its a quick million

Meek is way too one dimensional. He wont see another date unless he can produce a cross over huge hit. Levels flopped.

Wale is the only one who will survive, once mmg is gone he will stay on at atlantic.

Gunplay has zero appeal to people outside the coli.

Omarions already peaked and it was a long time ago.

Everyone else has no chance. Ross is just graspin at straws. He has no eye for talent. wale and meek already had fan bases before mmg, it was the equivalent of grabbing the biggest names of players in free agency.
ross owns 25 wingstops bruh he skraight

someone said it earlier you gotta understand that ross got those 2 for free. he didnt have to do any work with em. Wale and Meek came to him with huge fanbases already.

all of ross selections have been flops tbh. Aint nobody checkin fo stalley. Rockie fresh getting passed by his chicago brethens daily. Herb and bibby passed him now. the rest are just terrible.

Now if you wanna go 2 someone who has the eye for talent look at T.I. nikka should have had B.o.B, Meek, Iggy and Travi$ Scott. He lost meek due to him getting locked up and let meek go cuz he didnt wanna hold him back when he finna do his bid. Iggy had left dude to disagreements but she still fam and Hustle Gang still does her management so he still eating. She was on the hustle gang comp as well.

T.I got the eye. He found Iggy and Travis in the same day

You mention all those horrible acts TI signed on and not Young Dro and Doe B:dahell:? Dro might have a better eye for talent being that he found young la,i heard him talking about young thug before anybody, cosigned yellah nino who I like....he need to help Grand Hustle out right about now cuz with the death of Doe B the roster starting to look real :flabbynsick:

Meek is the shyt though, for whatever reason he aint getting the push I think he deserve, think he might break through this year tho....wish he was on that CTE roster,he'd fit a whole lot better and be on some real street anthems:mjpls:

and omarian lowkey had a hit with MIA but didn't really get pushed after that

MMG just threw the white flag on being bigger and better than YMCMB and TDE

It's the "were so hot, we can make anyone hot" mentality. No matter how bad or passed their prime the artist is
