There's a lot of QB's in the league that aren't great at throwing the ball downfield but they have 6'3 receivers with the ability to jump out the stadium

The only QB's that I'd say are legitimately elite at long balls are Rodgers, Flacco, RGIII, Romo, Brees

Wilson and Luck both were pretty darn good themselves this year too. Throw Ben in there as well....no idea why they went with Haley as OC...Ben and Arians were a good match. Stupid Steeler fans and their "yuck yuck that aint Steelerz football!"

what's this years receiving class looking like? free agency and incoming rookies? any immediate impact receivers along the lines of a Michael Floyd?

Pats have almost 20 Million under the Cap money to play with without restructuring anyone, could be more once the officla number lands.

Here's what we do:

My favorite Option:

Resign Talib.

Let Welker walk.

Sign Dwayne Bowe. I'd give him up to Vincent Jackson money (5yr/$55 Mill - $13 Mill first two years counting as a $13 Mil cap hit).

Replace Welker with Bowe, Edleman comes back for Welkers slot, sign some veterans who get cut in the summer for depth, draft another young wideout to see if he can stick.

If you can't sign Bowe...move to plan B.

Sign Talib.

Make up for the mistake of taking Brandon Tate instead of Mike Wallace in the 3rd round and see if we can pay that man the money required to obtain his services....off season, drops some balls, should get less money than Bowe.

Sign Hartline with whatever you have left.

There you have it.

Doesnt make him any less of a player honestly as he's obviosuly mastered the position....but you give Brady a deep threat...or a guy who gets open down the field I dont think there's any guarantee he becomes a great down the field passer.

A motivated Moss still in his prime...yeah he looked good throwing the bomb to him. So did Culpepper and Cunningham. The bomb isnt a difficult pass to throw.

And he also threw them to Gaffney and Stallworth. That's what you keep ignoring. In fact they brought Gaffney back in this year specifically to run those intermediate routes and he got hurt. It's the only reason Branch was on the team.

It's this simple, if the Pats don't get a cover safety, a pass rusher to put on that d-line so that Vince can't get doubled, re-sign Talib and get another big corner, and Dwayne Bowe or Gregg Jennings (who is going to Miami), they're done.

For a Jets fan you seem to know very little about Tom Brady.

Greg Jennings little ass can go to Miami. Gimme Bowe. We neeeed Bowe.

That mans exactly what this team needs, a more athletic, taller Boldin.

Bowe's a good player but he isnt exactly Mr. Separation either.

You'll want him gone by the end of the season.

At this point in Brady's career he can't keep relying on WRs who are under 6 feet and 200 lbs. and TEs. They need a top wideout.

Brady to Larry Fitz:ahh:

Send them a 1st,2nd, and a 3rd.....fukk it

It's a lot, but it'll be a sure thing.

Fitz has already proven that. You give him a competent QB and he'll break records

LOL@ thinking the Pats need separation. Brady can throw the ball into tight spots, he needs a big body who can take a ball away from a DB 20 yards down the field.

Mike Wallace would be a nice fit too, if thats the Torrey Smith separation your after, but he drops alot of balls too. I'd rather have Bowe, I think he's honestly perfect for this team.

If you can replace 60% of Wes with Edleman, add Bowe to go opposite Lloyd, and both TE's actually healthy, plus Ridley/Vereen and Woodhead.

I had guys telling me no one could get separation earlier which is why Brady struggles throwing down the field..

This would also be a perfect fit. The cost though....Belly loves throse draft picks. He told Dimitrioff not to spend all that dough to move up for Julio Jones.

Lemme rephrase that;

Separation is obviously valuable and the Pats lack there of of it caused them complications when their TE's aren't healthy.

However, they have NO ONE large enough to fight for a ball except Gronk, hence why Brady would throw the ball to him so damn often inside the 30.

If they had a big, strong wideout who could get open 20 yards down the field, he doesn't need to get the most separation, he just needs to come down with the ball.
