He's been on a lot of bummie heat teams that didn't make the playoffs. And he hasnt participated in the Olympics or world championships a lot so he should have more in the tank than he does
No breh

Shaq wasn't a great defender and Kobe was getting all defense based on rep for the last 3 years of his prime.

The whole concept of great defense from superstars is very recent.

It’s crazy how much he changed, he come into the league from UCLA as a big time defensive player with limited offense. Now he’s all offense no defense hell even James Harden playing better D at this point in their careers.

Still take him over James Harden defensively :yeshrug:

If we were playing "one defensive possession to save your life", I'd probably take Westbrook.

But over the course of the game, Westbrook has been worse than Harden since last year.

its crazy that he's gotten worse the older he's gotten. Prime HarDen, LD, and Russ OKC era, he was a dependable on-ball defender. Since then he's basically played that dumb Bron field safety position

That doesn't make sense, because Bron actually was playing help defense and protecting the rim when he did that. Half the time Russ is already facing the rim looking for rebounds. His help defense ain't any better than his on-ball defense.

That's a dangerous precedent but a sign of the times and culture..It's crazy though how the kobes, Shaq and stuncan tallied almost 20 years mostly doing it the right way . I mean look at wade, dude is done at 15 and he's had numerous lost seasons where he'd be on IR not even making the postseason

Shaq and Duncan were bigs, and for the last long stretches of their careers Shaq was lazy on D while Duncan was having his minutes mad limited.

Kobe was hidden on D from at least 2009 on and was playing hard D very selectively even earlier than that. From at least 2012 on he was pretty terrible.

I've seen Harden stuff guys shots, come up with steals, and take charges at various times. I've seen Westbrook look mean and grab rebounds.

Westbrook is so overrated. Got his big men shaving their stats to help him get a troubledouble. :scust: How can you respect that? I would not want to be on someone's team like that.

Top 5 my azz. There's a easy 10 players I've picks over Westbrook.

Lebron
Kawhi
Curry
KD
Giannis
Klay
Kyrie
Porzingis
AD
Harden
Dame
Wall

And folk wonder why Durant bounced :mjlol:

Been telling you stat padding WB has zero effect on the game because his no defense negates his triple doubles..

So we don’t want to ever hear WB is better than Curry because clearly WB is not better than Curry and never was at any point

One of the worst MVP's in league history. KD went out like a bytch in 2016, but can you really blame him for not wanting to play with this clown anymore?
Russ a very flawed player, but Durant was clearly soft. Yall dont seem to get no one was mad at Kd for leaving, but the nikka went to Golden state:mjlol:

It's clearly mental with this guy. Those repeated possessions last night in the 4th quarter where he just left McCollum wide open by the 3pt. line to score, which forced them to switch him onto Evan Turner were very telling. If he thinks he's gonna get away with that lack of awareness against Steph or Klay in the event that OKC actually face the Warriors in the playoffs this year then he's in for a real shocker.

You can't be out there playing for triple doubles (he had 6 rebounds) if you want to win a championship.

The problem is that he spent 7 months building terrible defensive habits; on top of how far he had already fallen prior to that.

You don’t just flip a switch and go back to normal after that.

This is why is was a joke that the Cavs played shyt defense all season last year and then tried telling the media that they had a secret strategy that would miraculously fix their defense in the playoffs.
It doesn’t work like that because defense is mainly training yourself to react properly. You not gonna be able to think it out as you go cause the game moves too quickly.
