I think this version was originally recorded for Hip Hop is Dead. Because Nas still used his vocals for the extra bonus got on there called the N. But yeah I dug this Swizz version better. That and The World by Kanye and Scientist by Just Blaze could have been on there and replaced Not Going Back, Dont Kill Me extra

I don't really see any of these being big commercial singles. Off I Am... I'd probably chooses Money Is My bytch and the tracks off God Son they chose for singles was perfect.

Son what u talkin bout?..Money Is My bytch over You Won't See Me Tonight?..u buggin..lol..KISSING had a better chance as a single than Money Is My bytch.. also.. You Won't See Me Tonight would've been a hit.. shyt was gettin played on the radio even tho it wasn't a single and shorties was goin hard off that song at the time...mad girls loved it..if Jay made it it would've been a hit single and no one would've batted an eye..

I don't agree. You Won't See Me Tonight had very little energy, but everybody was singing along with that damn Money Is My bytch chorus when it dropped. Every single doesn't have to be about a female. I did forget KISSING though. Probably would have been an alright single itself.

I know u have this thing against Aaliyah but u buggin..first off.. Album came out in the spring...so I don't know why u talkin bout the summer..also.. Mad chicks loved the song...I remember the shyt like it happened yesterday...shyt was after the Doctor Dolittle joint so people was feelin Aaliyah..plus u had the timbaland beat...like I said.. shyt was getting played on the radio even tho it wasn't a single..there's people who still don't realize that it wasn't a single..

It's not about every single needing a female..it's about what I saw females rockin wit at the time..between those three songs.. Money is My bytch was in last place in that regard...but u right that mad people caught on to the hook tho...a lot of people was singing that shyt..people front like some of these songs are terrible now but it's mad revisionist cause I saw no one in real life hate on em at the time...also..if someone like Jay made em..nikkas wouldn't have said shyt..

Well I should say that the songs Nas did release as singles off that album were the ones he should have chose IMO. I just don't like You Won't See Me Tonight and it was one of the songs I always skipped. It hasn't aged well, and definitely sounds like something from 98-99. As far as the Jay thing, you're right but I just don't think people wanted Nas in that lane and I agree. But since you're from NY, I know you were probably jammin the I Am leak which came out a few months prior. I Am got changed alot due to that leak and I think it could have been classic had it not leaked early.
