CC Waterbound made some tight tracks too. You might remember them getting a shout out from Pimp C on the outro of Ridin Dirty.

This track got Mo B. dikk on it

Another dope rapper from TX back in the day was Coop MC. The first time I ever heard him was on Master P's Down South Hustlers compilation. Then I heard the Hangin At 2 track on a DJ Screw tape, but it was labeled wrong so I didn't know it was Coop. His shyt is laidback and just some playa shyt. Check it out.

:blessed:
loved that playa houston sound. i always fukked with houston rap, being from cali, it was real relatable (plus we got them texas roots), i also like how they were like the bay, have their own scene and don't really need a lot of national exposure/accolades to do well with their audience. i gotta check this album out, my first exposure to dmd was 25 lighters of course

Southern rap is what finally ruined mainstream rap in general.

Every coast has had their turn and they pretty much added something of value to it, heck I'm from the East Coast, and I loved West Coast rap for the years they were running it...I still love that stuff today. But when southern rap took over in the late 90s and early 2000s...hip hop became the most embarassing ass backwards nonsense that permeates in the mind naysayers of today. Lyricism was officially dead when the south took over. Everything is big bass and southern straw chewing twang with goofy country ass names ...it's all just so.... :snoop:
