Possibly me too, but even better when it's together, a KRS-One, K-Rino or Last Emperor for example can combine that and create some really great high calibre work. Sometimes it can separate true artists from someone just rapping bars. I don't like it when someone's just talking shyt over and over again and there's no concepts or nothing creative ever, it just feels lazy and throwaway, or if it's a very simplistic stupid metaphor that don't count either, has to be something that's made for the sake of art and creativity not just bullshyt to get away with saying implying something explicit on radio or whatever.I think my bias favors the conceptual artists and songs but yeah technical creativity is something to note too
Biggie was dope cause he told stories in an interesting way, I Got A Story To Tell, Warning, Gimmie The Loot etc. Slick Rick also very creative, he actually had a song about being a slave and trying not to get killed by his slavemaster by entertaining them with spitting with Who Rotten Em, had never heard anything like that prior. He also brings is with the flavour and delivery too which is creative plus the concepts so he's a highly creative artist, really enjoy listening to Rick.
